Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

i havent chosen the course because of curriculum. I choose because I used to love coding. the teaching method is still old they should more focus on practical knoweledge they sometimes even wrote codes on whiteboards instead of showing it on pc. A sem is almost 4 months. and the exams are divided accordingly. 2 mid sem tests and one end sem test.

Internships Opportunities

1

They dont provide that good internships to be honest. they just show off more. they only provide for good students. they dont focus on weak students, they should provide them opportunities so that they can actually grow.

Placement Experience

2

Companies start hiring students form 3rd year. But only a few get placed during this time. According to CU, there are over 900 companies that came for campus placements. the highest package in india is 54lpa and average is 7lpa. In Last batch 3000 students sat in campus placements, but only around 500 got placed. So thats roughly only 17%. But According to CU its 85 - 90 % which is completely false. That is according to some criterias CU have implied on students. But real is very less.

Fees and Financial Aid

I gave a CUCET scholarship exam which costed Rs. 5000. I got 20% scholarship. The tuition fees was 106000 and 2000 examination fees per semester. After Scholarship i gave 86400 for 1st and 2nd sem as well. Then if you can maintain 7.5 cgpa your scholarship will be continued or else it will be cancelled. Mine got cancelled so I have to gave 108000 per semester.

Campus Life

3.5

The overall campus they are providing is very good. A very large campus with big sports complex. Wrestling ground, football, boxing, cricket, volleyball. Almost every game popular in India. Every year they organise freshers party for freshers. Orientation program for doubts clearing of freshers. Parties almost every month with singers. Sometimes DJ. Libraries are in every block with great collection of studying books . But they lack in self help books. Only few. Libraries doesnt offer that much space and seating for students. Sometimes I have to return because there is no seat to sit. Labs are good with good PCs but still there are some labs with bad PCs like only 4GB RAM till date. and some labs even have i7 with 16GB RAM. Clubs are formed recently this year. Its only been a month I joined the club. The clubs are also great.

Admission

i actually havent applied to any other college. I directly applied in chandigarh university. Admission process is quite easy. You can just apply for the admission online. My whole process was online. I applied through their website. I dont know about any exams I havent gave any exam just scholarship exam for cu and thats it, I got admission in the college. Just on basis of my marks in 10th and 12th.

Faculty

4.5

Most of faculties I would say are actually good in terms of nature, teaching, understanding. On average in theory lectures faculty-to-student ratio is 1:70 and in labs its 1:35. My favourite faculty till date is Amandeep Kaur from my 1st semester. She used to teach us C language. She is literally one of the best teacher I've got. My other favorite teachers are Milanjit Kaur who used to teach us C++ in 2nd sem Amanpreet Kaur who is a maths teacher in 3rd sem. I don't remember any teacher I disliked yet. Every year we get approximately 10 subjects out of which every year we give exams of 4-5 subjects every sem offline and 2-3 online exams. Like 80-90% students clears the exams.

Google, NVIDIA and likewise many others who are planning to have their setup in Punjab are already hiring a lot of people from our college. So, placements median so far is close or a shade above 10 but obviously it will grow to 20 till our turn comes.

Placement Experience:

The student become eligible for campus placements from 5th semester. The companies visited per year are approximately 200. They claim 100% placements but in reality they divide students into placement and non- placement batches called tpp and ntpp. If you slip up even once, you will be debarred from the tpp group. The highest package is 53 LPA. The average package is 4.5 LPA. Companies like JP Morgan, TCS, Capgemini, PlaySimple, Cognizant, Nokia, Philips, Morgan Stanley, PWC, KPMG, EPAM, Watchguard, High radius, OYO, Coding Ninjas, Samsung, etc have already came. More companies are yet to come. Since the student intake is too much, placements are really hard to get since there is too much competition. In the end, people get hired in mass recruitment companies and get minimum pay of 3-4 lpa. My plans are apply for off-campus jobs and start working in corporate after the degree. If I don't get a job, I haven't decided what I will do next.

Placement Experience:

Though when I got admission in this college, I saw the placement rates were very nice, around 95%, but maybe it was our session's fault. I passed out in 2024, and in that particular year, the placements were not as expected and as seen in the previous batch, so that was something very much disappointing because I paid so much money on a degree, only everything was good about the college, but in the end, placement matters during my session. Usually, the companies that hired for example, 10 students only hired two students.
