IIT(BHU)- A dream of Aspirants

IITs are the top institutes in India and provides best courses to innovate and understand it. Your branch/ course mainly depend on your ranking in jee advanced and also on councelling process conducted by JOSAA. Students generally prefer computer science first , so High rank is needed to join this course. I have joined mechanical engineering in IIT bhu because according to the institute they have the best mechanical department in iit bhu as compared to other institutions in the country. It was established around 1950s making it the oldest and the largest department in country. SAE, robotics, Aerospace clubs come under mechanical engineering. One can upskill herself/himself by joining the clubs. For real world applications mechanical engineering is the best branch as you will have to do several experimentz by yourself! Welding, foundry, carpenter workshop are there to make you ready for real world problems. You will have mid term and end sem exams nearly after 1-6months after joining.

For first year students internships opportunity are not much. From 3rd onwards you will canget internships. Palo Alto Tata Google Microsoft etc. hires students for internships You can easily get participated in college project under renowned professors of you don't want to join any company for internships

After 3rd year students are eligible to get internshipa from the companies. After completing 4 years at last semester companies visit in IIT BHU around December for placements. Around 70%+ students are placed while other government for Higher education, start-ups. Average package of mechanical engineering is 18 lPA which is decent and other branches have packagez 16-20lpa. IIT BHU have the best placement cell!!

1.)As I belong to OBC NCL I have to pay 1/3rd of the total tution fees that is around 54k rupees (per semester i.e,6 months). 2.)As of my knowledge SC, ST and PWD Candidates' tution fees is Zero, although they are charged for hostel and other charges that I have mentioned below:- According to fee brouchere of IIT bhu there is nominal charges for library you can get a book issued for 60days for free after that 1 rs for a day. Lab charges are not so that high they are included in total fees of the course. As per offical fee brouchere of IIT bhu caution fees is taken for hostel, library and institute is 9000/- rs for a semester for all candidates irrespective of Reservations ,but this is refundable. Admission fees of 200/-rs is charged and I'd card fee is 300/- rs(one time). 3.) talking about the scholarship:- As our alumni give a lots of fund and government has launched various scholarships for iit students ( you can easily get information on govt. Site) you can get scholarship.

Shrinivas despande library is there in the campus. You can easily get any book related to your curriculum. Also computer are provided for studying ebooks!. Sports meet held every year Known as SPARDHA & inter IIT competition is also organised time to time. Clubs such as:- SAE Aerospace MUN Literature Western music DESIGN FILM AND MEDIA COUNCIL Are available in IIT BHU

Hostel rent is around 300/- rs for a semester excluding mess charges , electricity and water bills. Mess charges are around 15k for 6 months. Mess food is average not that much good but it is ok. Freshers are provided P.C Ray hostels newly built!(Only boys). Girls are provided Gandhi chatravas . All hostels have their own mess , parking areas. Hostel registration process is somewhat tiring as you might have to stand their for 2-3hours to register yourself!

First of all candidates are required to clear JEE mains exam and fetch a decent percentile generally to give JEE advanced you must have 93%ile+ ( it depends on the level of students as percentile is relative). After jee mains , give JEE advanced and fetch a rank under 15k you will surely get an IIT . Reservation is given to weaker sections of the society such as EWS,OBC,SC&ST. SC and ST students will get iits in lesser marks compared to EWS , OBC and general category. But cutoff always might vary. Admission process is good no improvement is required in it .

Faculty to student ratio is very poor in iit bhu , the director also mentioned this drawback but he assured that he would solve the problem soon. As I have already mentioned the staff is well qualified but their teaching manner is outdated not allowed faculties are like this but 30% have poor style of teaching. Yes the faculties are always ready to entertain your doubts and problems!! in the subject. They will provide you with proper notes, books and reference materials.
