What Students Say
Likes
- Right from recieving the offer letter mentioning about takshashila, nalanda, ujjain and such ancient educational hubs were established and we want to create a school ahead of its time just like these great schools
- I really loved the curriculum. The faculties, their teaching method is absolutely amazing and reliable
- There is no hierarchy system. You can go and talk to any faculty/HOD/Dean and even you can talk with the management. You don't have to first ask 10 peoples before reaching out to them. This system shows transparency of the college
Dislikes
- Clubs should be active in the college. I mean almost every club is not functional.
Course Curriculum Overview
The first year is the foundation year... In which every small yet necessary things is taught to you. We're told about an assignment in briefing. And how we've to do the assignment is left on us to explore our creativity to use our mind in creation of something this is originally yours. This approach helps you to grow as a creative being... It prepares really well. I mean I used my learnings from my first semester in my second semester and it helped me to achieve a different and very unique design for many assignments given in the second semester. No such improvements for the curriculum. I've spoken to some NID visiting facilities too about the same. They say the appropriate approach to teach an important course has been followed in your college which sometimes is not even followed in NID too. We've a sem end jury which helps us to gain external validation for our work as a designer that helps us to grow.
Internships Opportunities
College provides internship, capstone project and placements. There is a placement cell available in the college campus that deals with this. The internship is compulsory in the 3rd year and the capstone is in 4th year. To be honest I don't know the details on that
Fees and Financial Aid
The tution fees is very reasonable in comparison to other private institutions.(It's still very high, but design education is expensive only.) I haven't opted for hostel on campus. There are plenty scholarships available too. You can check the website. There is a company that is associated with the college for emi payment of fees.
Campus Life
The infrastructure is good. The stationary shop and the printing could be better. Was not satisfied with that. The Library is way too good Love that place. We've cricket group, basketball court, football court, vollyball court, tt tables, carrom, gym, etc all are good. There's a student lead organisation called iConnect which conducts talk session from various people in the industry who're killing it out there. The student life is also very amazing. Almost every festival is celebrated by the respective community. And we enjoy all of them alottt. But the student life can be much better. Student Life almost doesn't exist.
Admission
The eligibility is 50% or plus in 10+2 or equivalent courses. From any stream. I had given MIT DAT and an Interview round to get selected at Avantika University. The DAT exam is 3hrs test and in the interview round, you're given a creative challenge which you've to solve and a portfolio round along with it in the same interview itself. The admission process was smooth and very good. You learn everything about the college from the admissions team. And personally I was not made any false promises or was not told something that was a lie.
Faculty
Our faculties are highly qualified. They're from the top D-schools from this country including NID, IDC,etc My batch strength is 240 something. So we're divided into 4 sections, each containing 60 students. To which one faculty is issued and associates faculties are also there. The faculties pay attention to everyone in the class. Their teaching methods are very good. At times they're strict with approvals and evaluations but their knowledge is very appreciable. As I've mentioned earlier too, there are no restrictions on approaching faculties. You can go and talk to them anytime. You just have to ask when they're free. They give you time according to their schedule.
Other Applied Colleges
Unitedworld Institute of Design - [UID] | Bachelor of Design [B.Des] {Hons.} (Product Design)
Way too expensive. Started a year ago.
Whistling Woods International - [WWI] | Bachelor of Design [B.Des] (Visual Communication)
The reviews were excellent for film making but not for design. Way too low average package placements
