As the college has own hospital. Exposure is better for us and learning oppurtunities are also more.

Dislikes

Campus environment is very bad. No entertainment activities are present.

Course Curriculum Overview

I knew that nursing could provide me with better job opportunities, that is the main reason I chose this job. I hope I can work in some European countries and my life as I want as a nursing job gets a better salary in other countries except India.

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 200000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

2 lakh rupees is deducted from us including hostel fee. So it takes around 11 lakh after completing the course. There is sponsorship in our college and students are allowed to study under sponsorship.

Campus Life

There is college day, onam program and christmas program every year. But I didn't find it fun because they used to show discrimination between boys and girls and they won't allow us to wear the dresses we want So overall everything is under their control. A vast and good library is available for us. Sports is present but yet no fun with that.

Hostel Facilities

In each room, 4 students are allotted. Attached bathroom is available. Meal is not that good but it's fine. Each month 6500 they are taken from us. There is no freedom in the hostel and full of restrictions. I felt so frustrated So I ve moved to a PG nearest to the college

Hostel Fee: INR 65000 per year

Admission

We have to set the resume and they have called us for an interview by the allotted faculties. If we are performing in the best manner they will select us. We have to take science subjects for 11th and 12th for admission to BSc courses.

Faculty

Faculties are fewer in our college. Some faculties are better at teaching and some are not good. Teachers have all the qualifications but the way they are teaching is poor and boring. I think the faculties can improve way better.

Athena College of Nursing - Whether to choose or not

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is INC approved and they have additional approvals in all over the world. There is clinical postings and community postings which help us to learn to interact with patients in real life. The exams are very difficult to crack and to pass the exams the minimum marks is 40 out of 100.

My days in RGUHS

Placement Experience:

Students were eligible for campus placements through 3rd year final exams. Various hospitals like Columbia Asia, Manipal, Asian Hearts, Max Hopital offered placement to our Students with an average package of aroung 3 to 4 lakhs. Around 25 Students got placement on campus interviews in different hospitals. My plans are to persue for higher studies after my degree and I'm looking forward to it.

Placement Experience:

The sem exams are held every six months. Nurses are to treat and take care of the patients which should be highly respected. But in colleges there should be more practicals and demo/ practice classes than theory classes.

Remarks:

Our college is a Christian College so to provide the students a spiritual connection a Catholic Church is provided to pray regularly. This makes our college environment very peaceful. Also other facilities includes the options of library and laboratory.
