Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Since I'm pursuing a general degree rather than specialization, my curriculum contains all the necessary subjects for my field like data structures, algorithms, operating systems, computer architecture, digital logic, networking, etc. Subjects like OS, and DSA prepare us well for interviews. But one needed improvement is, the curriculum must include the modern trends. For example, DSA is being taught in C language, but languages like java and C++ are more useful and important in our field. So the curriculum must change a little.

Placement Experience

3

From the 7th semester students are eligible for the placement drives. Companies that visit our campus include Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Berger paints. The highest package received was 14 lakh till date whereas the average package is 3 lakh. The percentage of students getting placed has decreased after the corona pandemic, with currently about 60% students getting offers. My plan is to persue master's degree after my graduation.

Fees and Financial Aid

My tuition fees is 1 lakh per year, without any scholarship. But my college has scholarships like TFWS, EWS, SC/ST, etc, which provide scholarship upto 90% of the tuition fees. As i live in the city itself, there are no hostel and mess charges for me. Our college carries out placement drive every year and almost all the students of the batch get placed. The average package ranges from 2 to 4 lakhs, with the highest being 14 lakhs till date (on campus).

Campus Life

4

My college carries out annual event almost every year, and 2023's was named Quasars. It is typically held in February or March. There are a variety of books related to our curriculum that are available in the library, including reference books and question banks. Every class has projectors and speakers so the students can attend digital class without leaving the classroom. Our college almost encourages activities like debate, art competition, science exhibition, etc. There are also different clubs run by students like astronomy, riding, trekking, coding, photography, movie.

Admission

The admission procedure was bases on the MHT-CET exam carried out by Maharashtra State government. There were two options, either to apply online based on the merit list or directly approach the college, where the staff filled the form on behalf of the candidate. Students from reservation class get benefits as their cut off percentile is fairly low compared to those of general categories.

Faculty

4

The teachers are well qualified, with almost everyone having a M.Tech degree in their respective subjects. Their teaching methodology is fairly simple and easy to understand, as they use both blackboard and projector to explain the concepts. The faculty is always ready and available to address the doubts and problems of students, both in the class and in their cabins. I reach out to my teachers quite often, and they gladly solve my problems. They treat all the students equally.

Placement Experience:

The college has a dedicated Training and Placement(T&P) cell and has regular recruitment drives that work to place students in companies where they will be values highly. Each year, 600-700 students are placed from all the branches. More than 300+ companies visit but the ones that hire are limited such as TCS, Capgemini, Infosys, Tech Mahindra which generally are mass recruiters that look for employees that will work for 3LPA or 4.5LPA. The highest packages go to about 30 to 40 LPA domestic and 61 LPA foreign but it is very rare to get a placement like this and requries considerable effort on the side of the student as well. Average package is 7 LPA for CS/IT branch; 5 LPA for electronics and telecommunications branch; 4 LPA for mechanical. My plan after getting the degree is working for 1-2 years while simultaneously pursuing masters.
