Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Course curriculum was revised very frequently as per the demand and requirements of the Student. But there were some courses which were in high demand by the students but were not provided because of the unavailability of the faculty. Various hands on courses were compulsory which provided good experience and learning. There were two minor exams in between and one major exam. Marking was done considering all three of them. Which made scoring good marks easy.

Internships Opportunities

3

Mostly junior college or coaching institutes come for hiring the students of msc physics. A lot pf people opt for higher studies and do not sit for placements. Students of our course easily get good phd in good indian and foreign universities. About 15 out of 49 people in my class got into world's best universities out of India. There is a masters project of 10 credits that you have to complete very honestly to get an opportunity to do phd in a good research institute. Placements are done on the basis of cgpa and your skills

Placement Experience

2.5

In my course, students of final semester are eligible for placement. Mostly coaching institutes hire from msc physics with an average package of 10-12 lpa. Not a lot of students go for placements. But mostly they opt for higher studies and a good amount of students gets phd in foreign universities.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is affordable compared to other third-generation IITs. The mess fees are a little too much and can be reduced considering the students. A lot of scholarships and financial assistance were available for SC/ST students and ews students. I was getting a Haryana government scholarship called Pose in which I was paid 6k every month.

Campus Life

4

A lot of festivities are organized. Each and every festival is celebrated with full integrity and happiness. Books and journals are available in the library. Not a lot of online journals are provided access to. They can improve that aspect. Classrooms are Fully functional and with the latest technology. Well-ventilated with ac. A lot of clubs are there including sports and extracurricular activities. And getting into them is also very easy. All the clubs are student-run.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Hostels were provided to almost every student. The hostels were well furnished and ventilation was there. Ac were there in every room because of the heat in Jodhpur. We were provided with single-occupancy rooms. The rooms were big and spacious. The mess food was okayish. The quality of the food could be improved and the menu could be made more versatile. Hostel registration is done along with the course registration and almost everyone can get a hostel. The campus was located about 35 km from the main city so nobody used to live in a PG or a rented room. The campus is very beautiful at night and there is also no time restriction for hostels but there is 10:00 pm restrictions to go out of the campus.

Admission

Eligibility of the course is bsc with above 60% and qualified IIT JAM physics exam with marks above the cutoff of your institute. The application process was all online and easy. I got obc benifit in my cutoff but it was not very significant. The exam IIT JAM is conducted once every year and the difficulty level is medium to hard. Admission process can be improved by verification of documents in a disciplined manner. Ours was done very randomly

Faculty

3

The faculty of student ratio was good. We had a lot of in-person interaction with the faculties. Even the faculty was very helpful and friendly. Some people were exceptional but overall they were good. A lot of good faculties were there but also there were people who couldn't satisfy students with their teaching methods. However since there were options to choose from the courses, it was feasible to choose for a good faculty.

Course Curriculum Overview:

- The course curriculum was specifically based on giving more knowledge and insights about the course I chose. I went onto specialization and chose microbiology and learnt that it has various other fields because of the curriculum. - The course and lab prepares well for the real-world applications. - There should have been more hands-on experience with some lab equipments and some teachers should have given more guidance to the students. - Frequency of exams and difficulty level was good. No complaints about that.

Placement Experience:

The campus placement commity is good, there is a dedicated department for campus placement for students depending upon the course you chose if you take Btech, Mtech or MCA its good but if you take M.Sc you have to struggle for placement and even if you get placement you hace to struggle with the package.
