Likes

Environment of the college is nice and the campus gardens.
Student from different diversities are there in our university.
Infrastructure is very nice and new setup of classes.

Dislikes

Teaching is not upto the mark. Irrelevant type of teaching is there.
Most of the teachers are new joiners and don't know about anything.
Too much extra work load like worksheets, assignments and all.

The course curriculum is also not upto the mark and kind of outdated. The syllabus is followed since 10 or more years and there are no improvements and updation in the sylaabus of any branch in Chandigarh University.

Fees and Financial Aid

Before taking admission, there was an exam called "CUCET" for scholarship. This exam generally consists of mathematics, english, computer knowledge and general knowledge questions. The exam level is easy to medium. And after that in order to continue for scholarship you have to maintain a SGPA of 7.5 or above.

Campus Life

One thing I personally like the most about Chandigarh University is its Campus life. The Campus is quite fascination and is very large in size. There are many different clubs for the students to take part in like one of them is IEEE! Also as there are many students in Chandigarh University, you will get very much of high chances to get social, making new more friends and enjoy college life.

Admission

Well the admission process is very simple same as other private universities. There is no such entrace exam for the admission. However, there is a scholarship exam that is condducted before admission to achieve the scholarship. As there is no entrance exam in cu so there is no cutoff criteria as well. Also there is no specific band for the intake of students . They take each and every student irrespective of past grades, reputation etc.

At Chandigarh University, the faculty's effectiveness and qualifications have room for improvement. The faculty-to-student ratio often results in larger class sizes, making it challenging for student to receive personalized attention.

The curriculum changes as per the need of the industry norms so that student can attain knowledge about the basics as well as the niche technologies.This is the aspect to choose the course and the lab work and continuous competitions help us with the industry trends. The management could be improved. The frequency of exams help us learn well and difficulty is between easy to medium.

Chandigarh University: Is it worth the investment?

Placement Experience:

The student become eligible for campus placements from 5th semester. The companies visited per year are approximately 200. They claim 100% placements but in reality they divide students into placement and non- placement batches called tpp and ntpp. If you slip up even once, you will be debarred from the tpp group. The highest package is 53 LPA. The average package is 4.5 LPA. Companies like JP Morgan, TCS, Capgemini, PlaySimple, Cognizant, Nokia, Philips, Morgan Stanley, PWC, KPMG, EPAM, Watchguard, High radius, OYO, Coding Ninjas, Samsung, etc have already came. More companies are yet to come. Since the student intake is too much, placements are really hard to get since there is too much competition. In the end, people get hired in mass recruitment companies and get minimum pay of 3-4 lpa. My plans are apply for off-campus jobs and start working in corporate after the degree. If I don't get a job, I haven't decided what I will do next.

My college experience as a fresher

Placement Experience:

Placements are good but I am more looking towards offcampus placements. I will do internships from my second year and in first year I'll make the base. I contacted to some of the seniors they said doing hardwork will definitely lead to a good package.

Placement Experience:

After 4 semester students are eligible for sitting in placements. There are alot of company visiting and alot of them take 2-3 with really good package and some handful with good enough packages of nearly10 lpa and the highest package was i think of in last month was of around 60 lpa . My plans after getting a degree is too work my way through companies to a FAANG Companies

From the second year itself students are eligible for campus placements and the companies right now visited are more than 80 + like Amazon Google Microsoft etc the highest package right now in our college 2.5 crore right now as a fresher more than 80% are getting placements which I can I can see and many used to start they own startups and get success in their field as help you teachers them and give them opportunity to learn and do startups and my plan after getting a degree is if you get a placement and huge packages and get a experience from them and to start my own business

My imperfectly perfect College life reviewed for everyone who needs it

Placement Experience:

Though when I got admission in this college, I saw the placement rates were very nice, around 95%, but maybe it was our session's fault. I passed out in 2024, and in that particular year, the placements were not as expected and as seen in the previous batch, so that was something very much disappointing because I paid so much money on a degree, only everything was good about the college, but in the end, placement matters during my session. Usually, the companies that hired for example, 10 students only hired two students.

I didn't apply to any other college. I chose it because it was close to my home. The admission process to give CUCAT exam for which the fees is 1000 rupees. The passing marks are 40 out of 100.
