Review of North-Eastern Hill University as an LIS student

The curriculum is very relevant to the current trends. Various practical experiences as part of the syllabus really hepls.. Internships are also a part and this also really helps. But still there are some outdated course so removing those and implementing much updated courses will be really helpful. Exams are fine.. The difficulty level depends on the course.

Tuition fees are affordable as it is a Central University. At the time of admission, it is around 4000.. Even semesters cost around 2k while odd semesters cost 3k. There are not much scholarships from the University. But you can apply State Scholarship or central scholarships.

Campus life is really fun especially if you are in University hostel. The most important festival is the Varsity which usually last around 2-3 weeks around May. Various extracurricular activities, Sports are organised. There are also various clubs like Art club., Music club, etc. Moreover, the Infrasturcture of the University such as the Library is good. The Library has a well-maintained collection.

Hostel seats are limited therefore you cannot guarantee to get a seat in the first year. But getting a seat in the 2nd year is guaranteed. Hostels arw affordable as it is only 2k per month. All hostel food are bad so it depends on your taste.

Entrance depended on CUET score.. Besides that there are also weightages like NSS, NCC, ST, etc. Application form and fees are usually available on the University website. Selection will be based on CUET score then document verification. And also admission process isn't long.

Teachera are approachable and really helpful. They have helped me in all kinds of ways. They are also friendly and helpful be it regarding your syllabus and even out of it too. Even in my research, they have helped me a lot in every step of the way
