Course Curriculum Overview
I chose robotics and automation since this is a promising and emerging sector in India. It will give lot of students opportunities as competition is also less. The course has 3 core subjects mechanical electronics and cs that makes the course versatile and allowing students to choose one from a vast variety of industries. The course can be under AIML dept as right now it is under mechanical as this will provide more exposure since the two go hand in hand. Three internals are conducted in a semester followed by semester-end examination which are pretty much easy to clear.
Internships Opportunities
The internship is conducted after the first and second years with project-making in the third year followed by a three-month internship in the final semester and all being compulsory and added to the report card. Off the campus, students can choose to do internships and in college, there are startups that allow students to do internships and also provide stipends.
Placement Experience
From 5th semester students are eligible to attend campus interviews. Companies like Google and Microsoft have visited in the past. However, as of now, there is a downfall in the number of companies visiting the college. Companies like tcs, Wipro, Infosys, and capgemini offer good packages for recruiting students. The highest went up to 40 LPA and the average package was around 3.25 LPA for mass recruitment. Around 90% of the students get placed in one of the companies. My plan is to go for off-campus placements as I can choose my place of interest.
Fees and Financial Aid
For the first year, it cost around 1.55 lakhs followed by 1.3 lakhs for the next three years. Over the past year, the fee has hiked to at least 2 lakh per annum due to demand. In total, it would be 6 lakhs for four years. Hostel and transportation would be extra. There are also scholarships available for students to apply that give 25k per year.
Campus Life
Events like freshers and uthkanan( competitions and food fest) are conducted for first-year students. In the following years when students enter their branch, a branch entry event is conducted. The library is huge and has a vast number of books which cover almost all engineering subjects. Classrooms are huge and spacious with board and LED projector. The college has a sports department and conducts leagues like football, cricket, and volleyball every year. There are also clubs like Aerophilia and challengers for interested students to join.
Admission
The higher the percentage in 12th, the more concession will be on the fee if going through management. Else competitive exam K-cet has to be written and based on the rank students will get a seat for the respective course. Also the earlier you go, the lesser will be the tuition fee for management.
Faculty
Faculty members possess relevant academic qualifications in their field of expertise like master's and PhD. Each student has a mentor to whom issues or any problems faced can be addressed. Effective faculty members have a proven track record in teaching. Student feedback is given to make room for any improvements. The teachers are friendly and approachable for any kind of issues.
