Remarks

Every college has its pros and cons gnlu is not an exception to this. If one wants huge salaries he may go for it but if one really wants to go for lawyering don't come here.

Entrance Preview

I took individual entrance exams for different nlu's and had different score for all coz at that time there was no common law admission exams(CLAT).I scored pretty decent in the entrance coz being a new nlu not many ppl opted for it and had a notion of it being a 3rd tier nlu. The reason i chose gnlu over other was that it was close to my home i.e ahmedabad. Secondly,i had an intuition that this nlu will do well in future. I guess i was the one that year who preferred gnlu over nalsar. Other point that i considered was related to fee, back then it was in managable limits.Dr. v.s mani was another reason, i thought why to miss a college having the godfather of international law.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, internship and placement committee being an active group of student and faculties is doing a nice job. Most of time students working in this committee make personal contacts and get some cream for themselves. But they doarrange some good internships at times. But most of time its the students who arrange for themselves.

Placement Experience

3.5

Its amazing but for that one must keep interning at same law firm for a considerable time. Best way is to start from 3rd year till ppo's comes up.

College Events

2

We had pentagram one of the best fest amongst the other nlu's.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes scholarships are available and even for poorer sections welfare schemes run by goi are easily available.

Campus Life

5

Girls will be greater in number for some unknown reason. Parties are quite common. Cultural societies are full of politics and needs a lot of licking to get into. You will find students from across the country but again because of heavy gujju reservation( a new scheme adopted after 2008,i guess) quality has deteriorated a bit but still its above nlu-j. only discrimination is gujju v. non gujju, which is heavily present and preserved by some gujju faculties and its staff . But then not all the figures are equal. Even st students are discriminated a lot by director and his personal staff.Secondly director is not an competent person to hold this position. He's only llm in criminology(in european nations its allowed to pursue llm after having graduation in any social science subjects ) and was having pol sci during graduation. So you can presume how much law he knows.

Hostel Facilities

3

Its rigid but then one can get student loans easily especially from corporation bank.Hostels are amazing plus the locality is awesome. Mess food is good but honesty back in 2007 it was best when we had jaisawal caterers. I secretly got to know that until

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is what that is helping gnlu to procure top placements.

Faculty

3.5

Course was nice and faculties even nicer. But only problem lies with the management of the college they consider themselves as all and all of university plus director and staff being gujju others have very little say. Even faculties have to suffer because

Placement Experience:

Our campus placements start from 4th year and like by the end of 5th year, most students are placed. Many corporate firms and with Gift City setting up most jobs were offered in the GIFT CITY. Even almost all the top law firms also have their branches in Ahmedabad and so that is where placements are done.

Course Curriculum Overview:

One of the major reasons why I chose this course was that this was very unique , bsc in data science along with LLB is very new in the market, although it has it's own drawbacks, in the real world, there is not much demand for technocrat lawyers right now but with time this will increase. The major improvement would be the inclusion of other fields of law like IP, arbitration etc. There are three components for exams, one is mid sems which is held in the starting two months of the semester and after two months is the end sems. The semester are pretty short which is why we get time for internships and which provides us very nice exposure for real-world.

Placement Experience:

After 4th year, students are eligible to sit for placements. Some students also receive a pre-placement offer in the 4th year itself. The students are first prepared for day zero, i.e., placement day, beforehand by conducting a mock interview, which is a voluntary session conducted by the placement committee. CV Vetting workshops are also conducted in the eighth semester because at the end of the 8th semester, the placements are made where tier-1 companies like Khaitan, AZB Partners, CAM, SAM, Trilegal, etc. In-house firms like Adani, ICICI Bank, Tata, and more come for recruiting students. Some students sit for placement; others who want to prepare for government exams like judiciary, UPSC, Public Prosecutor, etc. refrain from sitting in placements.

I don't know about the placement as I am in 1st year right now and so I cannot give opinion on that but in law we have to go to internship after every semester so for that college gives names of law firms where the college can help us to get placement and it is very nice and the process is smooth

In a law firm, there are no placements you have to get knowledge and then you can go to practice under any lawyer whichever you want and then you can do an internship in under of that lawyer. And you can stay in your own firm also. My plans for after passed out to practice under a very prestigious lawyer and get experience.
