Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this college because I wnated to pursue Mining engineering for which this college is well known with very good placements. Department is very relaxed and helpful. College also provided industrial training to all the students in mining department. No major problem is there other than college tag and campus life.
Internships Opportunities
The college provides industrial training to most of the students. No stipend is provided and neither the conveyance is paid. For paid internships, one have to apply for off-campus opportunities. All students have to do some training and internship after the 4th and 6th semester.
Placement Experience
After 6 th semester students are eligible for placements. Placements in the mining department are very good with most of the students getting placed in Hindustan zinc with 1600000/year. Companies visited:- Hindustan Zinc (Vedanta), Adani, Jsw, Ultratech cement, etc. (For Mining engineering) Average package:- 14Lpa Higher package:- 16Lpa Lowest package:- 7 Lpa All students get placed with more than 6.5 GPAs and no active backlogs. Other branches do have good placements but sufficient data is not there. After my degree, I would go for placements or gate exams.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees are categorised is several factors such as GAS, SFS, TFWS Etc. SFS has self-financed seats which have fees of around 70000 per year. Gas seats are government-alloted seats with fees of around 30000 per year. TFWS are tuition fee waiver seats with fees of around 15000 per year. All the seats are allocated according to merit. Tuition fees are not hiked after admission. Several departments such as Mining electrical and agriculture have great returns on investment.
Campus Life
Campus life is not so good. Fests do happen but not very often there are several clubs in that you can join for socializing. Good amount of books are there in the Library for every department. Most of the Classes have smartboards. Ac is not there in most classrooms. Sports facilities are decent with tournaments held regularly.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are double occupancy till 3rd year. In final year single room is provided. Hostels are poor and not well maintained. Wifi connection is not good at all. Mess food is very poor and not much hygienic. All students get hostel after applying. But there are lots of Rented pgs and rooms nearby campus which are affordable and good.
Admission
Admission is done on the basis on joint entrance exam percentile and Reap councelling. Go to reap website for more details. You should have passed class 12th and appeared for jee for admission. Admission is very manual but easy just have proper documentation.
Faculty
Faculty to student ratio is 1:20. All the professors have mtech and PhDs from IITs. Teachers are very approachable with good attitude. Faculty helps is personal and academic problems. Classes are regularly taken and syllabus is completed usually but the problem is that there is not so much resources so you have to rely on other platforms for exam preparation. You can easily prepare for government exams if you want to.
