What Students Say

Likes

Seperate department for MCA. Many other NITs offering mca course doesn't have their own department
Lots of opportunities within the department itself other than fests that are organised on institute level
Lots of seminars are organised throughout the year and we get real time experience

Dislikes

Too outside of the main city so we have to travel 15-20 km if we want to go to the main city
Timing restrictions for girls. Girls are not allowed after 9:45 pm

Course Curriculum Overview

The carricullum for our course was changed few years back and it is focused on both learning and placement perspective and it provides real time experience as well. The exams are done regularly in for of 2 cycle test within a semester and at the end of semester we have end sem exam.

Class Size: 115Course Fees: INR 110000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

I am not sure about the fees structure of other courses. However the fee structure for MCA is something I can discuss. In the even semester the fees was 35700 for tuition and academic part while the hostel fee is approx 46k. Every year the fees is hiked by some amount, although I am not sure. Many scholarship are offered by the institute, some are sponsored by the alumnis of the college.

Campus Life

The fests such as festember, pragyan, NITTFEST are organised in the college and there are some other fests that are organised by the department. Many books and journals are available in the library Sportsfete is organised where all the department compete against each other.

Admission

The admission in mca course in NITT is done through NIMCET. There are 115 seats in the college for MCA. General seats in the college are 45 so for general people rank upto 50 can secure you a seat in NIMCET. The eligibility and reservation are thoroughly mentioned on the NIMCET website. The NIMCET paper usually happens in June and the forn is opened in March end. The application fees is 1000

Faculty

There are enough faculty in each department for the students. All the classes are held on time. The college is very strict about classes. All the facilities are very qualified and they give their best. Faculties are always available to interact with the students

I took MCA to get placed into IT companies . The subjects in the MCA is very interesting but the students who studied UG course and then the pg course also in the same college then it is totally waste because they are studying the same subject again. Very bad thing is that in this college they are providing the same subjects and same syllabus for UG and PG students there is nothing different. But i have studies ug in other clg so for me it is different so i managed and it is interesting

Placement Experience:

MCA is 2 years course after completing they 3rd semester they are eligible to attend the campus placements and the college providing 100% placement. Name of the companies like CTS, Capgemini, HCL, Hexaware etc... every studends can attend all the company but if one student got selected in one company means he/she not allowed to attend some other companies. Highest package 10LPA and Average package 3LPA. I have got selected in CTS its a very god exprience for me.

I am MCA student. Before two days I research on government school or private school. According to my information, in study point of view, private schools are good but fees point of view are not good because poor families cannot pay money for private facilities. According to my information, other facilities point of view private institutions good compare to government institution.

NIT Trichy In A Nutshell

I personally am from Maharashtra so for VNIT Nagpur I Would Have Got ECE(HS) But Is Prefered this college for its national importance and name....i Even was getting top maharashtra colleges from MHTCET.....I wasnt Able To Clear The Criteria In JEE Advanced to Get Into IITs And Hence Couldnt Go There....The 2nd paper went terribly wrong for me but now i am happy....We have the match the required criteria in jee mains to get this clg....also 75% in boards is inportant for Gen and OBC and For SC ST it is 65%....Then Go Through a very very long admission process named JOSAA then CSAB(if you want to upgrade your seat) Then Pay The Fees And Report Physically...Read More
