A college like school

Discipline wise I could say our college is at the top level but management is still being rigid and partial though they say they are not.

Because of its years of goodwill and it was my dream to be a part of this college. Of course it was a risky for my carrier as it was for the first time for Xavier's to start the commerce program but still due to its values and disciplined system I was highly interested in opting for this college

Our batch is the first batch of St. Xavier's college B. Com program so we were being experimented a lot and at this point, our juniors are in safe hands as they are getting the stable course to study. The course is half related to the outsourcing process and half related with the normal B.com held overall.

No. Our college does not provide an internship. They do campus placements with Tata Consultancy Services but are not in the field of providing the internship.

Well, over course is being associated with MNC TCS i.e Tata Consultancy Services so we are being promised to get placements exactly after our graduation is completed. Recently we were having an interview of TCS and many of the students got selected for it and those are not selected will still get a chance to get selected after 6 months.

We mainly celebrate two events 1) Youth festival held by Gujarat University 2) Cultural Festival held by our own college. 3) Cognoscience it is done by the economics department. In this, there are some competitive games regarding the recent news and economic knowledge.

Well in our department, the course costs Rs.30000 which seems costly for doing a B.com program but in other departments, it is only Rs.3000-5000. In computer applications department the fees are Rs. 10000 for other self-paid courses it is nearly Rs.10000-15000 and for Big Data Analysis it is Rs. 40000.

I don't know about this. I'm unaware of such a thing but maybe the scholarship provided by the government is available in our college.

Our campus life can be said to be good as all are very free with talking and helping each other. All are easily mixed up with each other and gender ratio is girls more than boys. In extracurricular activities, we have won many prizes in the quiz and dance performances, in sports well Xavier's is known for the best basketball and football team in Ahmedabad.

Hostel facilities are quite low and old. I have not been there in the hostel but many of my friends are in a hostel and they always complain about the facilities as they are not being changed since past any time. In mess, the food is neither good nor bad.

We have Ronit Roy well know actor of Bollywood as our alumni and he visit us frequently every year or so. Yes, they are helpful in motivating us.

We have Two internal exams periodically each semester and One final exam for each semester individually. We are given marks out of 100 for which 30 marks are internal and 70 marks are external (which we score in the final semester exams). These 30 marks include our internal examination marks, attendance, assignments, behavior and overall performance.

Firstly I applied for admission online by filling up the form given on its website, then the merit list was passed out and I got a chance to be in the interview, an interview I was asked some normal questions such as why do you want to join this college, etc I answered it properly and by my overall marks in four main subjects and by my interview I was being selected.

At first, there were visiting facilities provided to us, then slowly and steadily after 1st year, we got some permanent facilities which are masters in their field. But still our faculties in particular lack sometimes in providing us the new information prevailing that is a bit of concern for us.
