Remarks
College management should take immediate initiatives to improve college campus.Management should provide college bus, improve hostel facilities, improve library, labs and faculty.
Entrance Preview
I took up Karnataka CET entrance examination and scored 35169th rank.I opted this college because of reasonable fees.I just had to pay Rs.35000 per year in Islamiah Institute of Technology. Whereas other colleges demanded 1 - 2 lakhs per year. The admission process was simple. I had to bring in demand draft of about Rs. 10000/-(first installment of fee) and submit the required documents within a week or so.
Course Curriculum Overview
Overall course structure was good except for 6th semester where the elective chosen was Operations Research. Operations Research was a pure mathematical subject. Most of them don't like it. It is also difficult to pass/score in Operations Research.Other electives assigned for 7th and 8th semesters were good.
Internships Opportunities
Absolutely NO internships provided by college. College faculty/management do not even know the meaning of internship.
Placement Experience
Placements and job opportunities are very poor (almost impossible) through college. Not even a single candidate has been placed till date.College management sometimes arrange off campus interviews. Students get chance to attend interviews held in some other colleges.
College Events
College occasionally organizes festivals every year. They are not very big and most of the students take leaves instead of participating. Some times festivals are organised outside the campus. Even then, the event will not be big and participation is poor.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure is very feasible. We can bargain the fee and in most cases fee quoted by management is negotiable. We can pay fees in different installments but we have to request for fee payment in installment basis. We can also delay paying fee by 2 or 3 months. There is no strict law enforcing students to pay fees before deadlines.
Fees and Financial Aid
College has good contact with Karnataka Minorities Development Corporation Ltd to provide scholarship for students of professional courses.Only minority students (Muslims and Christians) can apply for these scholarships.College does not offer any loan facility.
Campus Life
The college building looks like a Government high school building. It does not feel like an engineering college .Chemistry lab, Physics lab, Workshop lab and Civil labs are a kilometer away.Gender ratios are almost 50:50. I did not feel any gender partiality. Though college is owned and managed by Muslims I did not feel any religious discrimination. No discrimination among different cultures, races and economic status of students.
Hostel Facilities
One single small room to be shared by 3 students. Moreover, hostel rooms are not clean.Very dirty toilets. No proper water facility. Very poor service by security guards, wardens and cleaners. College management is least bothered to care about students in
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni network is good. Seniors do take some good initiatives to organize gatherings once in 2 years or so.
Exam Structure
Exams schedule will be decided by University.College has got nothing to do with exam schedule. If there are no arrears we get some time in between exams. If we have any arrears,we have to face back to back exams. We might also have to take up 2 exams on same
Faculty
Except for Engineering Mathematics and Engineering Physics, there's lack of faculty for all other subjects. There are no proper teachers and teachers' knowledge is very poor. Teachers don't know much about the subject, they just come and read textbooks.Tea
