Good campus and environment for students
Focus on placements so alot of placement drives
Curriculum.is also good and appealing towards childeren

Dislikes

Lack of experienced teachers and their inexperience in teaching
Lack of ac and other leisure facilities in most of the blocks
Attendence criteria is too harsh and money driven it seems

Course Curriculum Overview

Curriculum is relevant and to the point despite it being not enough for the placements the students can get the zist of what they are doing and also the placement focus and hackathons provide invaluable addup to the curriculum which is good for students

Internships Opportunities

There comes many companies for internship like Google,oracle and many more with stipend of around 30-40 k which is a good starting stipend .there you can get industry ready and get a peek at the life of corporate

Placement Experience

Students can avail campus placements from 3rd year onwards and there are alot of companies maybe more than 200 that visits the campus for placements through various drives average package sbeing around 6-8 lacks and highest going upto 50

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee for my batch 2021 was 90000 per sem but it keeps increasing with every year for next batches.scholarship is also available through cucat and a student can get a scholarship of upto 100 percent and the scholarship remains only if you score more than 7.5 cgpa in every semester with no backlogs

Campus Life

Overall campus life is great with alot of fun and activities fests and much more . Student can feel alive here and do whatever they want but in deciplin. Also there is sports complex so sports persons are also very highly demanded and treated well by the college

Admission

There is no as such entrance exam the entrance in cu is comparatively easy and there is just one scholarship test cucat that defines how much fee you would have to pay rest of the admission process is very easy

Faculty

The faculty is well qualified and they know what they are doing but problem that I faced is that the faculties are quite inexperienced in the cse block they are more of freshers so they donot have any prior teaching experience but most of them are helpfull

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum changes as per the need of the industry norms so that student can attain knowledge about the basics as well as the niche technologies.This is the aspect to choose the course and the lab work and continuous competitions help us with the industry trends. The management could be improved. The frequency of exams help us learn well and difficulty is between easy to medium.

Chandigarh University: Is it worth the investment?

Placement Experience:

The student become eligible for campus placements from 5th semester. The companies visited per year are approximately 200. They claim 100% placements but in reality they divide students into placement and non- placement batches called tpp and ntpp. If you slip up even once, you will be debarred from the tpp group. The highest package is 53 LPA. The average package is 4.5 LPA. Companies like JP Morgan, TCS, Capgemini, PlaySimple, Cognizant, Nokia, Philips, Morgan Stanley, PWC, KPMG, EPAM, Watchguard, High radius, OYO, Coding Ninjas, Samsung, etc have already came. More companies are yet to come. Since the student intake is too much, placements are really hard to get since there is too much competition. In the end, people get hired in mass recruitment companies and get minimum pay of 3-4 lpa. My plans are apply for off-campus jobs and start working in corporate after the degree. If I don't get a job, I haven't decided what I will do next.

Placement Experience:

Placements are good but I am more looking towards offcampus placements. I will do internships from my second year and in first year I'll make the base. I contacted to some of the seniors they said doing hardwork will definitely lead to a good package.

Placement Experience:

After 4 semester students are eligible for sitting in placements. There are alot of company visiting and alot of them take 2-3 with really good package and some handful with good enough packages of nearly10 lpa and the highest package was i think of in last month was of around 60 lpa . My plans after getting a degree is too work my way through companies to a FAANG Companies

From the second year itself students are eligible for campus placements and the companies right now visited are more than 80 + like Amazon Google Microsoft etc the highest package right now in our college 2.5 crore right now as a fresher more than 80% are getting placements which I can I can see and many used to start they own startups and get success in their field as help you teachers them and give them opportunity to learn and do startups and my plan after getting a degree is if you get a placement and huge packages and get a experience from them and to start my own business

My imperfectly perfect College life reviewed for everyone who needs it

Placement Experience:

Though when I got admission in this college, I saw the placement rates were very nice, around 95%, but maybe it was our session's fault. I passed out in 2024, and in that particular year, the placements were not as expected and as seen in the previous batch, so that was something very much disappointing because I paid so much money on a degree, only everything was good about the college, but in the end, placement matters during my session. Usually, the companies that hired for example, 10 students only hired two students.

I didn't apply to any other college. I chose it because it was close to my home. The admission process to give CUCAT exam for which the fees is 1000 rupees. The passing marks are 40 out of 100.
