KARUNYA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY AND SCIENCES - My College

The course curriculum is somewhat similar to that of Anna University. Since it is a deemed University it has done some modifications. They have some subjects focused on developing the entrauprenourship in students and provide us with resources to develop new ideas and technologies. But we are still learning about some old technology which nobody is even using these days and personally I think it's a waste of time. The internals are easy to score, they won't ask tough questions. The exam timings are also flexible. We have 3 internals our of which 1 is project based and then the end semester exam.

Our college has AISTCE membership so we will get internship opportunities from foreign countries annually dedicated to students of our college. Project based learning is also there for technical subjects.

Most of the students here are aiming for further studies and not placements. The placements are below average. The mean package was a out 3lpa. The highest package this year was 63lpa. Most of the companies visiting are new startups and some small companies. Students are eligible for placements at 3 year or 6th semester. International internships are also there. My plan is to pursue masters after my bachelors degree.

As of now, the fees is around 200000 per year. 2 groups of courses are there and their fees are also different. The fees depends on the demand of course. They provide with lots of scholarship. You will get a scholarship based on your 12th percentage. But you have to maintain attendance above 95 Percentage to continue this scholarship. Other scholarships are also there. Placements are just like any other private colleges.

The campus life is not as good as other engineering colleges. There is only one tech fest, MINDCRAFT, annually. We have a very good library which has almost every books for students. A wide variety of clubs run by students are there and you can be part of any if you want. But I would say comparatively the campus life is not upto mark.

For first years there are 2 categories of rooms, AC (3 sharing) / NON AC(4 sharing). AC rooms are limited. Just 10 rooms. The facilities include 2 fans, 2 tubelights, 4 tables, 2 double decker coat. The hostel food is good comparing to that of other college 's hostel. The college is located in an isolated area, so college hostel is the only option.

Everyone can get into this college. For some formality they conduct an entrance exam which is of no use. But fee reduction is there based on your class 12 marks. You can fill the applications form online and pay an advance of 50k inr. after that you have to go to the campus for enrollment where you have to pay the rest of the fees.

I would say most of the faculties are friendly and they are ready to help at any time. They'll provide their personal phone number with the class for cleaning doubts. All study materials will be posted online. Most of the faculties are natives and medium of communication is English. The faculties to students ratio is somewhat around 8:60.
