Course Curriculum Overview

2

The curriculum is good as I have chosen the computer science field which is good seeking the present and future growth. Their course curriculum is also good theoretically but practically there is many pot holes into it like they don't teach you anything to real-world application or industry ready.

Placement Experience

2

The number of companies coming for the placement is good it's crossed 600 after the 5th semester students are eligible to take the placement there are multiple that came to the campus and no offers were made like Google, Microsoft, and Flipkart. The highest package offered was 52LPA and the average is 3LPA. Percentage of students getting placed I don't know the exact number but according to my calculation, it's around 60%. I wanted to do the job in the IT field but I didn't get any opportunity.

Fees and Financial Aid

The course fee is somewhere around 6LPA for four years which I think is affordable seeing the course I have taken and there are multiple options if you scored above 90% in your 12th exam you get a scholarship. If you have passed jee mains and jee advance you will get a scholarship. There is also a scholarship paper which is organized by CU the name of the paper is CUCET if you score well you will get the scholarship. There is such campus employment opportunity or any side income opportunity provided by my college.

Campus Life

4

In campus life CU College is they organize festivals on a timely basis they invite big celebrities into their every festival. Typically festivals happen in the months of Feb-March and October-November. The library is also really good you will get almost every type of book in the library. The classroom doesn't have much technology. You can participate in any sports there are multiple sports available on the CU campus. Yes there are multiple clubs available in the CU that are run by the students like Music Club, Coding Club, Dance club, Guitar club etc,.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

The hostel facility is also good like you will get a bed without a mattress you will get a study table, a fan and you will get an almirah and the room size is also good like I was staying in a 4-room sharing and the room size is really good. The meal quality is really not good if I have to rate it out I will give it 4 stars out of 10 we will get 3-time meals a day excluding snacks and if we multiply 3*7=21 meals a week but approximately 7-8 when I only like the meal of the mess I have complaint about it multiple time but there is no improvement. It's really you can register for a hostel online by going to the CU website and the price of the hostel is affordable like it's approximately 80000 a year.

Admission

To be honest there is not such criteria for the admission they are taking everyone into the college whatever is your score in 12th class or 10th class you just submit the fees you will get the admission in fact there is no end date of the admission they will take you into the college if you walk for admission in between the course.

Faculty

2

To be honest I am not happy with the faculty knowledge I have heard that one of my teachers who taught me DSA is the teacher of English in my college but my college is short of DSA faculty so they sent that teacher to teach us DSA. The class is of approximately 80 students and the teachers don't have a mic so the students who sit behind the class are not able to hear the teacher. The approach towards teaching is really bad they just read from PDFs or Books and transfer the English sentence into Hindi. It's really hard to interact with the teacher after the class is over because we don't know where the teacher is heading next there is a different lunch time for all teachers and students.

Google, NVIDIA and likewise many others who are planning to have their setup in Punjab are already hiring a lot of people from our college. So, placements median so far is close or a shade above 10 but obviously it will grow to 20 till our turn comes.

The curriculum changes as per the need of the industry norms so that student can attain knowledge about the basics as well as the niche technologies. This is the aspect to choose the course and the lab work and continuous competitions help us with the industry trends. The management could be improved. The frequency of exams help us learn well and difficulty is between easy to medium.

Placement Experience:

The student become eligible for campus placements from 5th semester. The companies visited per year are approximately 200. They claim 100% placements but in reality they divide students into placement and non- placement batches called tpp and ntpp. If you slip up even once, you will be debarred from the tpp group. The highest package is 53 LPA. The average package is 4.5 LPA. Companies like JP Morgan, TCS, Capgemini, PlaySimple, Cognizant, Nokia, Philips, Morgan Stanley, PWC, KPMG, EPAM, Watchguard, High radius, OYO, Coding Ninjas, Samsung, etc have already came. More companies are yet to come. Since the student intake is too much, placements are really hard to get since there is too much competition. In the end, people get hired in mass recruitment companies and get minimum pay of 3-4 lpa. My plans are apply for off-campus jobs and start working in corporate after the degree. If I don't get a job, I haven't decided what I will do next.

Placement Experience:

Though when I got admission in this college, I saw the placement rates were very nice, around 95%, but maybe it was our session's fault. I passed out in 2024, and in that particular year, the placements were not as expected and as seen in the previous batch, so that was something very much disappointing because I paid so much money on a degree, only everything was good about the college, but in the end, placement matters during my session. Usually, the companies that hired for example, 10 students only hired two students.
