What Students Say
Likes
- This is the oldest and the most prestigious university in Andhra Pradesh, to be part of that legendary alumni is something to be proud of.
- The campus is so big that it won't you make feel that the campus is too small like a school.
Dislikes
- The classes aren't held that regularly, and the assignment load is too much to handle.
- The cultural activities are quite less compared to other institutions.
- The placements are not on par with the Institute's branding.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is almost same as computer science but with the variation of one subject a semester, the course is somewhat old school and is not much relevant. But there are a lot of options in the Institute to skill up and bloom your career.
Internships Opportunities
The internships are available in the Institute but most of the companies are start-ups and the stipend may or may not be offered, we have to look out at the announcements made in our various group chats for opportunities.
Placement Experience
From 6th semester the students are eligible for placements, the placements are okayish. They are up to the standard of the branding of the Institution. The placements are dependent on the placement officer, if the officer is good then we can expect some good placements. Prominent companies that visit: Accenture, Wipro, MathWorks, Infosys, DHL, etc.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee is quite affordable and you can avail the scholarship if you are a local and belongs to a specific category through JVD scheme. This course is self paid means unlike other admissions through EAMCET( Where the fee is usually 40k), we have to pay 76900 a year.
Campus Life
The overall experience is good, you can find some great people to hang out with. There are various clubs in the college as well like Communicons( an English club), AU United( cultural club). Department days are held every year seperately for each department, they have all the sports and cultural events included.
Admission
To be eligible for this course we have to clear our intermediate with 50% and get a good rank in EAMCET which for OBC the cutoff rank is around 6-7k now, my batch is the first one after the course is reintroduced in the Institute so the cutoff ranks went up a high, I availed the seat through NCC( B certificate) quota.
Faculty
The quality of the faculty is on par with professors from IIT, they are all PHDs. Mostly the professors won't take the classes, instead the research scholars will take on behalf of them( most of them teach good as well). The professors here are very supportive when you want to do a research on a certain topic and most of the time you can interact with them, but we have to keep in mind that do not anger them.
