Review on Andhra University Naval Architecture Branch

The course curriculum is of international standards and very flexible. It is more of industry related. Exams of sems are conducted every 6 months maintaining good curriculum. The subjects are mainly about ship building which fascinates me more.

They provide internships at various locations across the country. Our department provide internship at Hindustan Shipyard Limited and Goa shipyard Limited. They also provide at IIT Kharagpur and IIT Madras. Also at IRS Mumbai.

The placements are very good when compared to other colleges. Last year 90% got placed and ramaining went for higher studies. Average stood at 6 lakh per annum and highestt stood at 9 lakh per annum and least is 3 lakh per annum. I plan to pursue higher studies after the degree. From 7th semester students become eligible for placements.

Tuition fees is 39500/- per year. Registration fee is 3000/-. Admission fee (inclluding lad fees, development fees, caution fees) is 2000/- Government provide scholarship whcih cover entire tuition fees.

There are several clubs like socio club, sports club, ambassador club, music and dance club and many more. There are good libraries with lakhs of books and there amre man events which take over a year span where wtudents take part and enjoy themselves.

We are alloted 2 members per room. They provide 3 meals per day of good quality. Affordability of the hostels is very less when compared to others. The hostels are provided within the university. There is wifi facility and cc camera facility.

I choosed this college so that it is very reasonable about the fees. When compared to other colleges to study hte same course it costs around 15-20 lakh rupees. The ROI is very preety good when compared to other colleges. I applied for IMU and Tolani Maritime Institute but I preffered this college over them.

Faculty are very experienced and have hands on experience in industry. My favourite proffesor is S.C.Mandal who has vast experience of 40 + years in industry. There are other several faculties like prof VVS Prasad, prof Giri Rajasekhar, Prof Bhanu Prakash, Prof Niranjan. The faculty to student ratio is 1:5. There will be 8 sems spaning 4 years which each sem consists of 2 mids.

Students after the college use the college gym who are interested in fitness. Also some go to library where there is a central library and department library which are air conditioned where they study for some time. Outing for hostel closes at 8 pm for both biys and girls.
