Course Curriculum Overview

3

The curriculum is very well designed but not updated as per the recent industry standards if the respective fields. There are no subjects lile vontent writing or learning graphic designing as it's requied in the feild of mass communication. I wanted to learn news anchoring as that's why I remeber joining this course but there is no training to the practical aspects. If they add certificate courses or workshops on things that the industry is requiring it will make the students good enoug to go and earn as soon as the graduate. The exams are taken at teh very right times and the frequency is goo the difficulty level is same for student wo attend and the one who never came to college even once in the entire semester

Fees and Financial Aid

When I started this course it was just a year to the college authorities lessening the fees and I found it cheaper too as per other colleges gave or took for the same structure of course. The complete cost of my college fees including everything was max 40,000 per year. There are scholarships for students who are from different castes as per govt schemes but nothing on merit There is no campus placement offer so that I could earn the money i invested back but I got a job before the semester ended hence I started earning in my second year but this was not because of my college.

Campus Life

4

So at ILSASS we have two specific competetions and fests but they are at very small scame those are Avishkaar, and SAPTAK these are cultural and social competetions where your performance get you a position to represent the college at the youth fest. There is a very small library but the faculty is co-operative enough to provide you those essentials We have a regular board in the classroom with a projector so that we can watch shortfilms and movies to learn more about the same. There is an annual sports event which lets you have the sports and extracurricular activities but the university always organises such events for students to participate and represent their colleges. There is a movie club and a GK club

Admission

There are no tests, GDs PIs takens before the admission here it is on first come first serve basis. I saw the college on a website and thought why not get the admission here. Because of the facilities like a good city, studio and less student population.

Faculty

2.5

By the year 2020 the professors were very well educated and as per the name of the college we learnt everything practically. But in year 2020 the faculty that joined were not qualified enough they gave vague answers to our questions except the lady who was teaching us since first year and is now the principle. The new faculty has either done just masters or are the alumini and they themselves don't have enough exposure of working in the respective fields that they can provide the practical knowlege to people Mostly the faculty existing now just has theoritical knowledge and if students are creative on their own just they can learnt things themselves.

Other Applied Colleges

Xavier Institute of Communications - [XIC] | Certificate in Public Speaking

I was looking for colleges out of Maharashtra because I want to explore a different state and new kind of people

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course fortunately covers various dimensions of the media field, but I feel that it lacks information on core Journalism. To be specific, while the curriculum has topics like writing and editing for print media, there is no mention of topics like page design and editing, due to which the students lack the necessary skills.

Once you reach to 5th sem, you are supposed to do a compulsory academic internship and in the 6th semester, you might get placed based on your 5th sem internship performance. I don't know much about the insiders but the placement cell is very active for other departments as well.

Placement Experience:

Campus placements are the best part of the university. From the last semester, students become eligible for campus placements. Companies like Times of India, Hindustan Times, Dainik Bhaskar, Danik Navjyoti, CNN, Sandesh, Star TV Network visited the campus. The internship opportunity is also really good. Almost 85% of students get campus placements. I want to be a news anchor after the completion of my degree.
