My college days

College environment is so green which i liked it very much.

I chose this college because it was the top 3 colleges which had M. Sc Bioinformatics course, and capital fee was less than other colleges.

No internship provided, No stipend. Even if we didnt pay semester fee in time we had pay a fine of 800 rs each semester, i payed that every semester, cause my father used to give money after the due date.

No placements. No one got placement from college. Infact everyone went to take up jobs which was not related to bioinformatics.

College day and cultural and sport day, only engineering students participated, arts and science students didn't participate that much. We hardly went for college day or any other cultural activity ion college. Mostly dominated by north India students.

Expensive i had to pay 35000 rs for one semester, and they will ask for capitation fee. If you are not from Tamil Nadu they will ask you for more capitation fee. One friend of mine from north India had to pay 1 lakh capitation fee. However i manged to pay 10 k to get admission.

We had a english communication class. Which was really good. There were no extracurricular activities there. Ragging against other state students was there. Kerala people and tamil used to fight a lot in college. Debates were rare, Visual communication students used to make movies and play in indoor theater.

Hostel facilty are good. I didnt stay in hostel anyway. Most of my friends were in hostel they said its fun and food in hostel is good too.

I mean everyone is busy with their life, may be its my batch. I dont know about alumni network. Senior are so friendly in my course. However UG students were so arrogant and violent lots ragging happened.

Exam structure is based on madras university. Most of the exam questions will be out of syllabus. People write irrelevant answers and still manage clear the exam. We have 4 hours of lab every week. Lab in curriculum was good.

Except for biochemistry and biotech staffs other didnt know what they were doing. Even my HOD quit his job and went for job in IBM after studying oracle. Bioinformatics staff were mostly amature they just give noted harldy they take class. And no body und
