Course Curriculum Overview

4

Talking about the course curriculum, it was all according to norms, there could be improvement in organising more & more seminars, workshops, internship opportunities and some industry based study approach.

Internships Opportunities

2

Companies like "Times of India" visited for internships in Chandigarh branch for 15k stipend. College itself provided internship opportunities in marketing and sales department of college. There were few intercollege competition like hackton, and research paper submits.

Placement Experience

3

After our course completion, there were many campus placement but mostly of sales only. Students here become eligible for placements after completion of their 4th semester. Companies like amazon, Flipkart, Deloitte visited and offered an average of 6 LPA , with 22 LPA being highest and 3 LPA lowest. Generally students go for higher studies but 20% go for some job. My plans were to go for a job itself.

Fees and Financial Aid

During my time my whole course ended in about 3 lakhs, college was too strict on the part of late submission, there were no relief on fines until if there is major issue like loans, death & financial instability. College provided scholarship for good scoring students in their high school and also special scholarship for Uttrakhand and east students. College provided many opportunities to work under college departments like marketing, sales, management.

Campus Life

4.5

Events like navdhara( technical fest) , Pinak (college annual fest) , and khel divas ( sports fest ) happened in months of September and april every year use to happen in college. Library is good enough for courses books. Within classroom there were projectors There were very few clubs like tech clubs, sports club, dance club, singing club, research and consulting club

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel room were quite good, clean beds, good washrooms. Although the mess food was very below average there were use to find insects in food, i myself had food poison once. Registration was wuite smooth for hostel. I rented room outside campus in 2nd year at main chowk (DBIT) near college for 3000/ month rent including water bills.

Admission

There was no as such criteria for the admission, it was all based on merit basis. I took admission by directly meeting with head of the department, he gave me a college tour and explained basic stuff about our college. You can find application forms from the college official website. Exams were on theirs usual times no as such different from other universities, there level were quite mid not that hard. In the admission process college can optimise their online portal in a efficient manner if possible.

Faculty

3.5

Initially our interaction with the faculties were very good they were all well experienced and were very friendly with us, but after some time they left the college and since then new faculty come every 3 months and then leave.

Other Applied Colleges

Amity University | Bachelor of Commerce [B.Com]

Amity was too expensive for a course like b.com

Placement Experience:

The college provides a great scope for campus placement this was one of the main reason I took admission here.Form the second last semester the students become eligible to sit for the placement exams. The college have ties with many big companies and MNCS which provides the opportunity for campus placement. The written exam is conducted in the college campus only and the selected students are called for the interview. The main companies that visit Graphic Era Hill University are - 1:TCS 2: Infosys 3: Adobe 4: Google 5: Microsoft The highest package of the college in previous batch was 50 lakhs per annum and the average package was 6 lakhs per annum.Tough the college does not guarantee 100 percent placement but most of the students get campus placement the percentage would be around 80% . My plans after completing my degree is to get a job as a financial assistant and gain some experience and then pursue MBA .

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities for b.com honours are decent, only few students get placed, Around 40 to 50% of students in last batch got placed. The average package offered ranges between 2 to 3 lpa while some students with better skills secured a better package. Companies like TCS,Deloitte,Infosys is very active in campus placement but you should not be concerned about placements if you are doing BCom focus on your skills and you will secure a good package or focus on masters then after you can expect a good package
