Course Curriculum Overview

1

Course curriculum i just do not like. I hate the fact that the syllabus we are assigned is very generic and hence the teacher has the freedom to teach as superficially as they like. I mean its not like they cut our marks or whatever if we write on a superficial level but from a learning perspective, i would say the course could have been MUUUUCHHH better. There is no internship or time for internship provided and its overall very hard to get a permission for internship even if you find some on your own. So i dont like it. Overall they are somewhere near the academic calender in terms of timings of exams.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is scholarships provided in the university based on your caste, and the percentage of grades that you have scored, though i do not have much knowledge about the scholarships since i do not fit in any category but on paper yes i have seen the above. The course fees is more or less stable, we were charged a thousand more in our last semester but that might as well due to our convocation or sometbing. So its stable nonetheless. The bus fees however has increased once so about that, i dont know if they frequently increase it or was it a once in a while thing.

Campus Life

3

The college life is good overall i would say. I am not that much of a social animal so i think for someone who is, this may be a little less but overall its very engaging There are various programs that are organized, various clubs that one can join and which cover a wide variety from social clubs such as roteract to literary club such as Manas. The crowd is nice, you'll find people that are like you and that will develop your personality as well. Library has good stock of the books and I personally like the books. I mean yes there are a lot other books that I would prefer but this is not bad, workable.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

The hostel facility is good. The resources provided are good overall. The rules however are strict and there is no concession. It's more like a school hostel than anything else. I had personally left the hostel for different reasons, i.e., the water quality just DID NOT suit me. I started having crazy breakout and my hair went so bad it was beyond help as long as i used water. But nobody else i knew had a similar problem so maybe it differs. I did not have any problem with drinking water. Another reason is that the quality of food had degraded there and there were hair in food frequently, lock of hair once, and worm (once in my tiffin). Though, after i left the hostel, i have heard the quality has increased so you'll have to check for yourself. They now provide a lot more complementary things to eat but also the rent has increased from 6k to 8k so yes. If you don't mind a lot of discipline and food is not an issue, its a good place to stay.

Admission

There was nothing that i did not like about the admission process. I am not from Indore so I had done the entire procedure online. Its pretty much smooth. I had talked to the HoD of the department on chat once before the admission and then i was directed to the employees in admission cell who assisted me throughout. So yea. It was good nothing so bad there

Faculty

2.5

The faculty in Psychology department is ok i would say. Their credentials vary widely so its about the particular faculty you get. We had an opportunity to study directly from the director of our department and so that was something nice. There is no such lack of faculty in the department. Its overall ok, not a lot, not too less The interaction with the faculty outside the class, however, is kind of pain in the neck sometimes because they are busy with one thing or the other so over time i have just given up

At DAV studnets get placed but our department provides research and teaching opportunities and therefore placements are nil to some. Overall though DAV has great placements record and that is why students thrive to take admission here.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum was really great and definitely helped me choose the course. Each topic helped me learn across the curriculum and gave me a detailed insight of the things I was unaware. It helped learn a lot about English literature and it's different concepts in a deeper sense. I would suggest that some concepts which can be simplified in learning can be modified accordingly.
