Likes

The college campus is very big. Like in other NITS vehicles are not allowed but in NITS Bhopal vehicles are allowed which becomes very convenient in commuting.
The faculty here is good and supportive too. There are many societies here which enhance the cultural activities here. There are many facilities which are available inside campus like sports complex, gym , Library, barbar shop ,and many labs .

Dislikes

Hostel facility is not that good. Ragging is prevalent here, due to which students are not able to explore their college properly.Many facilities here are not allowed for first year students due to ragging.
Hostel food is average on quality because mess fees is less if compare to other nits. There is frequent shortage of internet and water in hostels. But now the hostel is improving slowly.
Faculty is sometimes absent and the pace of teaching is also not according to the students due to which students remain doubtful in the concepts. In some classes the syllabus is not complete due to which students have to do self study.

Course Curriculum Overview

Here core branches are not taught in the 1st year, which are taught from the 2nd year. The good thing is that along with theory, practical is also taught, which helps in understanding the concept. The timing of exams is not that good, there is not enough time for preparation. Especially since not even a day's break has been given in the end semester exams.And the gap between mid semester exams and end semester exams is also not of much day.

Internships Opportunities

Since I am in my first year, I don't know much about internship. But there are many internship and industrial training opportunities for students.they contact us through WhatsApp groups and provide opportunities.

Placement Experience

Students get placement from 4th . And from 2nd and 3rd year they can also do internship. College placement is very good for CSE branch. Almost more than 90 percent students get placement. Highest package in CSE was 82 lpa .Many companies like Facebook,bharti Airtel visited .

Fees and Financial Aid

There is a lot of relief in fees because it is a nit .Tuition fee Is 62,500. Many scholarships like Manvya and NSP scholarships are available.I am from SC category so I get complete relief in tuition fee.But hostel fee and mess fee are charged.

Campus Life

Many technical festivals and social activities take place here. Various types of societies organize events like techno fest, e-summit .Almost all books are easily available in the library. There are projectors in every classroom. Sports activities are good.There are total 19 student-run societies.And they help in personality development and help in placement for students

Hostel Facilities

Facilities are good for 1st year but there are many problems like occupancy of 3 in 1 room. WiFi is available but internet speed is not that good.Also ethernet is now available for next 2024 batch .Mess is run by mess community which is made of students themselves .Food quality is not that .There are problems with water and internet in the hostel.

Hostel Fee: INR 23500 per year

Admission

I took my admission through jossa counselling. To get addmission in NITs you have to give jee mains exam ,Sc/st/pwd candidates get reservation. All the information for admission is available from the college website.

Faculty

The faculty here is well qualified. The strength of a class is approximately 100 students in which one teacher teaches them. The faculty interacts well with the students and helps in clearing the doubts. There is no problem in interacting with the faculty. There are many seminars and webinars here which help students in career guidance.

The absolute truth about SIRT

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester students will be getting placement notification, there is an app called pod AI to monitor your placement companies and how much you applied, and your eligibility for company, if you are from electrical branch you will recieve polycab , EXL , a1 fence , solar square . There was about 10 companies visited but absolutely 0 opportunity in IT companies if you are from electrical branch. Average branch package is 2.4 lacks per annum About 50% of students got placed My plans after degree is to go for off campus opportunity

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum followed by the college is slightly old in comparision to iits and nits but it is better than most of the remaining colleges. But the curriculum could be improved.The curriculum is based on more theoretical approach and less practical approach for some branches.The teaching methodology is good . Teachers use smart boards if they need. The frequency of the exams and msts are good but they also include demo which makes it hectic.

OCT Bhopal is outstanding!!

Placement Experience:

Highesht package so far has been of 34 lakhs per annum and average though is 6 LPA. This average is considering all departments as for pur department it is of 10 LPA. Wipro, Amazon, Tisco and Mindtree are some companies out of lets say 50 odd which shows up every year. My plan is to do an MBA program and i am preparing for CAT too.
