- Teaching faculty of mahila mahavidyalaya is very supportive and if a student is genuinely interested in academics (or any other field for that matter)they can for sure approach and get the guidance from the professors.
- Mahila mahavidyalaya is not one of the affiliated colleges of Banaras Hindu University. Many girls with me willingly chose MMV over faculty of main campus. The classes here are regularly conducted and professors make effort for students here.

- There is no placement opportunity for students pursuing bachelors.
- The study curriculum is more focused towards academia.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I did honours in economics. I think the course is designed in a nice way. Students will find it very helpful if they decide to pursue economics for further studies. BHU only offers BA hons. There are two faculties - faculty of social science and faculty of Arts. Under social sciences: First and second year- three subjects (two exams of each subject) + ancillary (one exam of chosen subject) + language (hindi in first year & english in second) Under Arts: First and second year- three chosen subjects ( two exams of each subject) In both social sciences and Arts, only the subject you're pursuing honours in is taught in third year. Many colleges and universities offer placement after economics honours but here no such opportunities are given to students.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Tuition fee here is quite affordable. Even if there's going to be a hike in future it still would be quite affordable compared to other universities of this stature. Scholarship programs are also available. If someone's from UP, they can avail the up govt. Scholarship under which the fee get refunded. There are another scholarship programs and financial aid available for eligible students as well. Right now there is a hike proposed in yearly fee. Currently the fee for BA hons. Is Rs. 2407 and proposed fee is Rs. 3420. For BSc hons. It's 3167 and proposed fee is Rs. 4400. Hostel fee is around 4000-5000/year for most of the courses. Mess charges are around 2500-3500 per month.
Campus Life :
Students here have access to central library, cyber library and their respective faculty library. Central library has huge number òf books available for students. There are opportunities for students interested in sports as well. University offers many extracurricular activities basketball, shooting etc. Under ncc students get different opportunities as well. There are various clubs which are run by students only so the rate at which the clubs are going to be active depends on the students. Fests usually happen around winters. Mmv has its own cultural fest and so does other faculties then we have inter faculty cultural fest, spandan. In which whole of university participates. These are cultural fest. Then we have fest organised by iit bhu, kashi yatra. It happens every year. In this ramp walk, dance and various other activities are organised and it concludes with a concert by any big singer. KK, Shaan, darshan raval etc. The passes of this fest are available for everyone.
Admission :
Earlier there used to be separate entrance exams but now candidates only have to take CUET. The eligibility criteria is the same as CUET. For some courses though the process is different but for bachelors in arts/Social sciences/ commerce/Science is through common entrance.
Faculty :
The faculties here are very qualified and are always willing to help students though students will have to approach professors first. Students here are from both hindi and English medium so lectures are mostly a mix of both the languages. The teaching style here is normally traditional i.e. lectures by Professors. Though post covid use of technology in teaching is increasing. Faculty members are very knowledgeable. They conduct various seminars from time to time where students get the chance to hear them and different esteemed guests as well.
