Campus and hostel life in SRM

I chose BCA because I wanted a tech degree but I didn't want to do Btech. BCA is known as mini btech, were you're taught the important things. Its actually really efficient. The curriculum followed is up to date. I don't think I have any complaint in terms of the curriculum but teaching methods can be improved. This isn't just about srm but every college should give students more of practical knowledge than theory.

SRM has really good campus placements. Last year there was a 1Cr package offered in Btech I think. Students are eligible for campus placements from the last semester but the college prepares you for campus placements from 1st year itself through a subject called CDC. Students should atleast have 60% to sit through placements. I think the lowest package offered was 6lpa. My plan after getting the degree is to go for my higher education.

My fee structure for three years is 85k/year. It was 90k in the first year because of 5k registration fees. Hostel fees are a bit pricy, its more than course fee itself but accommodation provided is good except its kind of hard to adjust to the food. Scholarship's are really prioritized here in SRM. For students who apply for sports quota everything is completely free. SRM invests 1Cr for sports quota students every year.

There are two major events in SRM. One is Milan which is the Cultural fest and other is Aarush which is the tech fest. There are a lot of clubs you can get into here in srm. SRM has fully functional library, where you can find the books you need and work stress free. Sports club is really active in SRM. Most of the clubs here are run by students themselves

Hostel fee for first year was 1.25 lacs and for second year it's 1.43lacs. Yes the hostel is pricy, but there are hostels in different price ranges as well, lowest being 1.10 and highest being 2.5 I think. The food quality isn't that bad but depends on person to person. Registration process for the first year was a bit tacky but from second year it's all good. Affordability depends from person to person. There are really good pgs around the campus as well.

Course eligibility : +2 minimum 60% , Maths is compulsory. Application form, application fees and apple dates are all found in their website. I don't really know much about the reservation benefits but they're available. For my course there wasn't any entrance examinations Admission processes are really smooth.

All the faculty members has high qualifications. The minimum qualification a faculty should have is a Phd. Most of my teachers hold doctrate degrees. Everyone teaches in English even if some don't really excel in English they never fail to try.

I did have a face to face conversation with a faculty during the enrollment process. I just had to introduce myself, nothing much to prepare for. It's really easy to go through the enrollment. Then you will have orientation and then a campus tour and then classes.
