Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose botany because I had liked plants and wanted to know more about them. Also I find it interesting to pursue. The course provided by Dibrugarh University over 4 years and 8 semesters provide a profound understanding of the subject step by step without letting the pressure of unknown things build up.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The semester fee charged by the institution is moderate as it's affordable by the students. Also for the EWS section of the society there is a fee waiver scheme which considerably reduces the semester fee. The college also awards certain scholarship upon various courses.
Campus Life :
The campus has a cultural vibe of Assam. The trees in campus to the fluent Assamese language being used in functions and seminars. The use of gamosa and traditonal welcome whenever a guest visits. Though there are areas of improvement in the sports field. The college lacks a proper sports field and an indoor stadium. There is also a need of gym in the college. There are various student clubs in the college. The prominent ones being the green club which plays a pivotal role in maintaining the cleanliness and greenery of the college and the E-cell club which excels in student opportunities internship deals and much more
Admission :
The admission process was mainly through the online mode. We had to make an account in the college website with our correct credentials and then proceed to selection of course where we had to provide the details of the course we want to opt and also the details of our educational qualification. After that the college publishes a merit based list which is divided in three phases for the ease of admission process. The college offers reservation in admission. Examinations are held once as sessional before the end sem examination which is usually a 5 month period from the beginning of the semester.
Faculty :
In our department there are currently 6 faculties compared to an average of 40 students who attend class regularly. So it's good to say that the teacher student ratio stands around 1:7 which is a considerable amount. The faculties are highly qualified and provides quality study resources.
