Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The curriculum is extensive and covers all bases. Some of the course material could be updated to match the current trends in the field. The basics are very well covered. Exploring manual methods is encouraged, to strengthen your design thinling skills, but it wpuld be great if newer techniques involving softwares fould also be taught as they make the students readily employable.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

The fees are the lowest you could imagine. Most of the additional amenities such as the hostel and food are also considerably affordable. All forms of scholarships are available including first graduate and sports quota scholarships. Tution fee is about 8000 for the top 40 students and about 14000 for self-funding students. In campus hostel costs about 30k per semester including food. The tution fee includes a subscription to the Rotary Club, yrc, nss, etc. And all lab fees.

Campus Life

4.5

There are plenty of cultural programmes being conducted in a very organised manner all throughout the year. They include food streets, movie screenings, award shows, sports meets, cine shows, talent shows, intercollege competitions, etc. There is a huge sports ground complex with sports clubs and teams. Well-equipped auditorium. Plenty of clubs to explore your interests and recreational spaces to hang out. Social life is good on campus.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel facilties are reaaonable for their prices. The SAP hostel is specifically very spacious and designed to cater to the needs of architecture students specifically. With drafting tables, wardrobes etc. The food is decwnt and served with hygiene.

Admission

Eligibilty will be based on your 12th marks and nata score combined. Nata is conducted every year. You will have to apply through counselling. The counselling process is compratively hassle free. Reservation benefits are available. Admission process could be improved if the communicatoon channel had more clarity

Faculty

2.5

The faculties are highly experienced in teaching. The younger faculties are very knowledgeable and encourage experimentational approaches. Some of the faculties have outdated perceptions of the field and uphold certain toxic work cultures. Most of them avoid spoom feeding the information and encourage thw students to learn out of their own initiative. They do not ahy away from.having detailed one on one sessions to help students. They give you oppurtunity toconnect with a wider network of architects.

On the whole, one may say its a fairly good college a very strong administration as it is headed by a Great Architecture - Prof. Althaf Ahamed, who has recently received the lifetime achievement award and the Feild of Architecture by the IIA. Also being ranked as one of the top colleges in architecture in the South of India, it does justice to holding that title.

My director is someone i HIGHLY look upto, one of my reasons to love this college. He is a man i keep in a very high position of respect for his knowledge and the person he is. The college may not cater to your cultural like any other college, it may not have a HUGE campus, or a fancy canteen, but u will be eternally grateful for the people you meet here, the friends you make , the teaches who guide you and the college itself. Its location is a HUGE plus point, in the heart of the city! It becomes a fond memory once you leave so every institution has its good and bad qualities, its what you make of it that will define your experience, and in my final year i can tell you, there is no other place id rather be.
