IIITM Gwalior Pros and cons

Course curriculum in this college is not very hectic. The work load during semester is not very hectic where last hour studies are capable to perform well in exams as professor provide all the study materials according to exams and whatever they taught. Course curriculum are set that Subject present in semester is either related to previous semester's subject or link with current subject. Which helps in relating or gaining new knowledge in specific domain. Each semester consists of 5 to 7 subject and 2 to 3 labs with 3 credit for each subject and 1 credit for each labs and 20 to 24 credits in total. Course curriculum not only focuses on core subject of perticular branch but also the new emerging domain or real world applications. They were considered as elective where student have freedom to choose their interests. Exam occurs in form of minor(30 marks) and major(60 marks) occurs in equal time interval. Exam difficulty levels are generally depends on professors, generally easy.

Placement is average as compare to IITs and top NITs with maximum placement of 65 LPA and avg of 15 LPA. Student are eligible to apply for internship in there pre final year and for placement in final year. There are total of 80 to 100 company visiting college every year and 15 to 20 company provide package of above 25 LPA. Company offer they made according to there choice it could be 1 or even 5 to 6. Placement is not so good in past 1 year due to recession. But still 80 to 90 percent of student get placed either with lower package or prefer for higher education.

Fee structure is divided in tusion fee, hostel fee and mess fee. Where tuition fee also cover library, hospital and other extra charges total tuition fees vary year-wise and semester-wise from 60000 to 70000. The hostel is 14000 and mess fee is 14000 as well. Total it cost for 1 lakh per semester including some other miscellaneous charges. There is scholarship for ST, SC student and also whose family income belong to under 2.5 lakh. Scholarship is also provided for students from Madhya Pradesh as well. The scholarship is eligible only for tuition fees but not for hostel and mess fee. Campus provide stipends to students who qualify gate exam and work as a teacher assistant in college as 12000 and aslo other benefits. As of me as general student with on scholarship benefits i am not fully eligible for this answer

Experience with campus life is moderate. It not that bad and not that good either. Student are free to celebrate and festival or activities in campus by following some rules. Culture fest Arora, sport fest urja and also some technical fest are held in our college. Where Arora held once in 2 year. There are various informal fest occur in interval to 2 to 3 months. Campus also provide library with most of 80000 books which is biggest library in central india. Book are available are in various domain but only related to computer and electronics background. Student are free to use number of book want for ample amount of time. Classrooms are well furnished and provided by AC duct. Classroom in pc setup and projector to present PPT. In campus sport which are popular are badminton and football. There are also other sports such as basketball, cricket, volleyball, swimming etc. Club such as utthan cultural club, IEEE student club, AASF focus on student betterment. Rum by student representative.

There are 4 boys hostel and 1 girl hostel. Where each hostel have 1 garden, 1 badminton court and indore space for indore games such as snooker. There are 1 water cooler in each floor and 4 common washroom in each floor. There also contain inbuit mess in every hostel seperately. Where mess provide 4 time meal breakfast, lunch, evening snack and dinner. Mess also provide night cantine where student pay and can eat at night whenever they get hungry in mid night. Meals are avg depends on the mess incharge. Generally good as compared to other colleges mess. Hostel and mess are considerably affordable by 14000 hostel and 14000 mess each semester.

College is well prestigious and consider as national importance which take addmission by JEE main percentile. Each branch as there different cut-off like in CS branch it is above 99 percentile for IT (MTech) it is above 98.5 percentile and for IT(MBA) it is above 97. Cut-off are varing year to year. Applications forms are fill using josaa councelling conducted by government of india. In this councelling student get this college in rounds and after that student have to approach college to complete their addmission process by providing some important documents such as 12th tc, marksheet, caste certificate, Aadhar Card, domcile, etc. Addmission process is quick take approx 1 day to complete whole process. As this college is MHRD funded therefore there are Reservation benefits. And that student have to provide some extra document to get there reservation benefits.

Faculties are most probably very supportive in nature. There are various departments in college (IT,CSE, Electronic, management, applied science, etc). Where every professors are PhD and from well known colleges such IITs and NITs. Each department consists of 10 to 15 professors each. Professors in college are well knowledgeable and have extreme mastery in ther specific domain. Each professor have their different way of teaching either ppt forment or white board formet. Student are free to approach any professor whenever they are free and can solve their disputes. But some professors are forcing student to do research instead of placement, which is not bad but it is affecting students freedom for their career.
