- Things i liked are environment here which is beautiful.The trees are all around you where u feel the sir almost everytime
- The campus is in the centre of city which is needed for students to roam.
- Many restaurants are nearby where u can dine the food .if the mess food is not goodd that day you cluld enjoy eating it outside
Dislikes
- Stress is so much that u need to study daily to get good cgpa
- The weather here is worst that you feel sweaty everytime even in winter sometines
- U feel dismotivated if u dont study or copeup with others
Course Curriculum Overview
The first year courses are not relevant to some extent as physics and maths are not useful becoz whatever they teach like series and matrices are not applied in civil. As I'm in first year I don't feel the curriculum is relevant to civil as everyone first year student irrespective of branch learns same subject like maths,physics etcc. Need to remove unnecessary subjects and should concentrate on core part. Timing is something depends on ur preparation and it may vary person to person.frewuenct of exams are like they happen for every month. Quiz q in one month and quiz 2 in the next month
Internships Opportunities
The internship opportunities available are limited as many companies stopped interns but companies come with offers where u perform well. U would he getting pre placement offer in ur intern journey.im a first yr student. So I don't have any intern as such.
Placement Experience
4th year students. Are eligible for campus placements.many companies like L &T ,AESEC AUTODESK etc visit and give opportunity to students.from our branch 87 percent students placed.I haven't planned anything for my future yet .I would discuss after 4th year.highest went upto 2 crores
Fees and Financial Aid
I think the entire fee for 4 years is around 12 lakhs including the tution and hostel fees.many scholarships are available for students .I don't no the names a s such.im a furst year student so I didn't receive job yet
Campus Life
Saarang in January, Shaastra in December ending.Many book are available in offline in library where u can access them or take to ur room for a month and return back.projectors are available and ACs are also available to sustain in the heat of chennai.Many sport events happen In institute like events between hostels or events between colleges and NSO like students in first year pick this and learn for an year.there are many clubs which are srudent run and all clubs are run by students in IITM.The students will be learning a lot if they are in these clubs
Hostel Facilities
The facilities provided are cupboard, bed,fans,desk for laptop, study chairs.The meal quality will be good in few mess and sometimes bad in other mess and the quality also depends on the mess.Ur hostel will be registered automatically if u take Addmission in IITM.30k for sem including both hostel fee and mess fee
Admission
Jee advanced is the eligibility criteria.U can find the form in the jee advanced website, price may vary year to year and to write advanced,u need to pass jee mains.The process of admission starts around July in my time and went for approx 1 month.there were 6 rounds where u can put colleges in ur prefernce and freeze or slide them accordingly.i was from narayana colege so they trained me like anything in last year with exams every alternate day or so.timing was 3 hours of the exams
Faculty
There is one teacher and in my class there are around 80 students.All the faculty here are highly qualified and u would like the teaching of few teachers and u wouldn't like some because their teaching won't go into ur mind.we can interact with them in only class hours or if any doubts u can mail them and request for doubt session
