Likes
- Even though the university is big, the campus is not much crowded and that's the best thing about DDU.
- The campus has both female and male hostels and therefore students don't have to live outside the campus.
Dislikes
- Placements provided including all departments are very few and that's the only negative about DDU.
Course Curriculum Overview
B.Com is mainly for learning accountancy and our course has all aspects of it. Yes we do have economics and banking as our subjects but the core is accountancy. There are too many subjects like the language and other which I felt were honestly unnecessary, if they can be eliminated, it will be beneficial for both, the faculties and the students.
Placement Experience
Placements are there as Gorakhpur is developing and many new banks and business entities have come here. Accountants are the need of the hour and therefore around 40% students were placed last year. Accountants though can't expect a salary above 20-25k a months and that was the salary that was offered to us.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees is one of the reasons why most people enroll here as total cost of my education will just be 30000. It is highly unlikely that anywhere with this kind of fees structure you will get the facilities that DDU provides.
Campus Life
Annual fest is called Rang and is celebrated in February every year. The campus is huge as the area is nearly 200 acres. There are a total of 6 departments and each department has their own library. In regards to sports, there's a high class ground which is adept to play football or cricket.
Admission
One has to clear HSC be it from commerce or science stream. The application form is easily available online and one can apply online. One just has to pay prescribed application fees and form will be submitted in minutes. The cut-off list of provisional admissions will be out soon and one can confirm their admissions and confirm their berth at the college.
Faculty
Well, all the professors are highly prosperous in terms of the knowledge that they possess. Yes, they do hold the best of degrees but it's the insight that they bring on table makes them superior and students favourite. Interacting with them is quite easy as they will be seen siping coffees and teas with the students at university cafes.
