What Students Say
Likes
- Firstly, the infrastructure is great. It feels spend-worthy to study at an environment designed in such a manner like ATLAS.
- Secondly, the studies aren't as rigid as they traditionally be. Inculcation of practical and real-world problems to regular assignments makes a student aware of the actual business world rather than staying behind with the theories.
- Thirdly, the BBA course (Entrepreneurship) offers you subjects like "New Age Business Models",which really helps a student in getting lessons from the recent startups that have either succeeded or failed.
Dislikes
- Not a great issue for those who stay nearby, but some students travelling distances might face issues due to its location being BKC, or Kurla.
Course Curriculum Overview
Aspects of the curriculum that basically influenced my decision were the varities of subjects offered here. ATLAS electives, subjects that keep changing every semester (there are 50+ options to choose, from AI, Robotics to Bollywood as well! ) Curriculum basically speaks the real world examples. There are no rigid or hardcore books being followed here which keep their syllabus unchanged for years. Our matter of study basically includes the current happening in the ecosystem of business, startups and Enterpreneural ventures. I dont really think of mentioning areas of improvement specifically, since during my course of studies (since a year or more), I actually met all the expectations I had, from ATLAS in terms of study methods or Teaching strategies. It is really difficult to figure out areas of improvement when there are hardly any cons in the teaching methods.
Internships Opportunities
Companies I've applied or received opportunities from: Marsh McLennen Vahura (LegaFin) Henkel Zomato Jio (Many more to name..) Stipend amount basically falls under the range of 7K-40K. Very few opportunities come unpaid, most of them have a stipends.
Fees and Financial Aid
Talking about Financial assistance, you can get an Educational Loan from any of the financial insitutions incase your funds go short of the fees. Complete cost of education is 4,50,000 a year, except for the first year where you need to pay an additional 50K. A component of the additional fee, the security deposit gets refunded after the course has been completed. Second year onwards, the fee is 4,50,000 each year, fixed. Campus employment include internship opportunities from organizations like Deloitte, Marriott International, etc. Recent opportunities received include Zomato and Henkel, having a stipend rate of around 35-40K. Average rate of stipends during the course time ranges anywhere between 7K-40K.
Campus Life
There are major events like ILLENIUM and INFERNO with vaious other intercollge fests taking place the year round. Theres a mid-sized library at the top floor with almost all the prominent books and necessary journals available. Speaking for myself, almost every book I required at several moments was available at the library. Classes are well equiped with centralised ACs (there are no fans here), with Apple TVs in certain classrooms or atleast projecters/ICTS in every classroom. There are many clubs here, like Futurepreneurs(talking about entrepreneurships), Finterest (Finance club), AGILE(Sports club), STAGE(Entertainment club led ), INC (Corporate club), RC ATLAS (Rotaract club) Actors like Karan Johar, etc have been seen participating in some of these clubs too.
Admission
For the admission, you need to go through 3 rounds of questioning post filling of the admission form: Online Aptitude test (Camera monitored) Personal Interview( With any of the faculties) Group discussion (You are placed in a group of 7-8 other students seeking admission, where you are given a case with certain question and judged based on your rate of interaction with the group and the quality of solution you provide.) A day or two after this, you get a mail from ATLAS stating your status of admission, whether you're selected or not.
Faculty
Honestly mentioning, for every subject/course you get around 2 faculties atleast, which keep changing every semester. This basically means that if there are 6 semester overall, u get two different faculties for each subject every semester, which enables a student to get varied experiences. More than 95% faculties, especially the ones leading the BBA program are PHDs, some of them having startup experiences, or having worked with top businesses which enables them to lead prominent discussions. Faculties at ATLAS are often interactive, especially during matters of academic or business discussions. Speaking for myself, I've discussed my own startup idea with my faculties for Enterpreneurship, and they've mentored me enough to gain valuable insights on the how-to's of a startup.
Interview Experience
Yes, GDs are a compulsory part of the admission process, you need to startegically tackle case problem presented and interact appropriatley with the other students being a part of your group to get selected. Simple process with three rounds: Online Aptitude Test Personal interview Group discussion My preparation was led by studing about the current affairs as well as getting through entrepreneural issues and matters.
Other Applied Colleges
Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies - [NMIMS Deemed to be University] | Bachelor of Business Administration [BBA]
ATLAS Skilltech University seemed to be a somewhat "New-gen" university to me, breaking the NMIMS' traditional course syllabus
