- The teachers here are good, the provide good materials and interactive classes
- There is no ragging whatsoever aside from slight teasing from seniors, everyone is friendly
Dislikes
- The uniforms for girl students is bad, when in summer it's too hot to sit in class and they don't provide AC even though they have it
- There are multiple levels in a building but students aren't allowed to use lifts and have to climb 5-6 flight of stairs everyday to get to class
Course Curriculum Overview :
The first years have to learn a lot of useless things which is not something I find good. It's not practical to study all of those topics just for basics, a bit of basic theory is all that is needed but they teach way too much and it's very complicated. But after that the course subject makes sense for my major and that's good, aside from the course subjects they have a lot of clubs with extra learning opportunities so that's good too.
Placement Experience :
For third year all students receive campus placement training and this year even second years are being given small training. They teach us about resume building and provide opportunities for internships and entrepreneurships. There is many clubs for developing skills and those helps in resume building and everyone is encouraged to be in these clubs. Companies like WIPRO, IBM and UST global have come here for recruitment as far as I know. Almost all students get placed and the average package is about 5-8 LPA . I plan on doing work for a year and proceeding to furthered studies after that, probably in MBA
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Financial assistance is given to all students who need it. The backward communities are provided with few concessions, I myself am provided with it. There is scholarship opportunities for students who score well and earn steady 8.0 or above cgpa's as well. The placements here is good as well, anyone with cgpa above 7.5 have opportunities for placements. Average package is around 5-8LPA and for more high achievers it's around 12-18 LPA. Campus employment start from about second semester in the third year and we get training for it as well.
Campus Life :
There are events happening occasionally but not as often as in other colleges, academic focus is higher here but that doesn't mean we don't have events. From when I started we had freshers day, 2 musical event and one event for dance. There was sports day, arts fest and tech fest, we also have occasional intercollege matches for music and sports. There is a lot of book available in the library and youre free to use the book for as long as you want as long as you mention it to the librarian. Many clubs are there here, ranging from fun clubs like music and dance club to social service clubs like NSS and clubs which helps in skill development like mulearn, IEDC and IEEE. there are 3 cafes here, a fitness center and a store available here. Sports is encouraged here and there are many teams formed.
Admission :
Eligibility criteria is percentage above 75% in all subjects and 80% in math individually and 80% for pcm collectively. Application forms are available in their online page, application fees is there I think about 500 ruppees, application dates start from after 12th boards finish. Reservation benefits can be applied if you write KEAM and get a good rank in your reserved category. There was no entrance exam for Muthoot except for KEAM.
Faculty :
Most of the faculty here is good at their job and are qualified for it, lots have PhD's. They give out useful materials and provide extra classes if you feel difficulty in studying. They share notes and provide textbooks and as far as I have seen the teaching style of the faculty is effective. At times they might be a bit too strict and unreasonable, but those are not all the times.
