What is the detailed process of admission in medical college after NEET? More complicated and confusing, yet amazing at the same time Yesterday I got my admission done in UPUMS saifai I filled their long long admission form, affidavits, signed 2 yr bond of UP state and submitted all my original documents alongwith 2 photocopy sets(self attested),4 photos,2 photos with parents and then thay gave me medical form. I filled that form, then I needed sign of every department that I am medically fit,so rushing here and there with my mom in the hospital for the checkup, sign, stamped, this was a long process. After that,I submitted my medical form and they gave me fee reciept to fill, and then I with my brother filled the fees in bank(bank was also in campus itself) After that, lunchtime, everyone kind of stopped working, then for the final verification slip, they were calling us one by one,and checking our original documents in order to verify again!
Course Curriculum Overview
Too much emphasis on non clinical gross anatomy rather than practical application to surgery. No wonder kids in year 1 MBBS fear anatomy as a monster. Beautiful subjects like forensic med are reduced to clown by teaching them in closed classrooms with old, image-less PPTs which can be mind numbing rather than involving the students in a post mortem session or showing practical applications.
Fees and Financial Aid
In India, the annual fee for studying medicine in government colleges can range from INR 14.5 lakh to INR 25.75 lakh, plus hostel charges that can range from INR 5,000 to INR 23,000. The fees for MBBS programs in private colleges range from INR 10 lakh to INR 25 lakh, while those in government colleges range from INR 2,000 to INR 14,000.
Campus Life
Medical students generally work longer hours than students in other fields, with lectures and practical sessions taking up a lot of time. A typical day for an MBBS student might include: Waking up at 8 AM, First class at 10 AM, Practical lab session from 2–4 PM, and Self-study.
Faculty
Most of out faculty are doctors themselves. They have the knowledge, undoubtedly. However they do not know how to convey that knowledge. So a good faculty must know the art of simplifying the text for lectures.
