Remarks

Overall, the college management is functioning well.

Entrance Preview

I chose this college because it was among the top ten institutions in Bangalore. Excellent education facilities provided by the college were evident from the long list of university toppers produced every year. The college provided world-class facilities to its students. Also, the college conducted numerous extra-curricular activities and was also associated with programs of national importance, such as NSS and NCC.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum was exhaustive as it was a triple major in Chemistry, Genetics, and Microbiology. It included a wide array of practicals that were essential to provide the technical expertise to students. The triple major combination allowed the students to form a strong base in the subject.

Internships Opportunities

I don't have any idea about that. During my education period, I never came across an intern working in the college.

Placement Experience

1.5

The college conducts job fair twice in a year with many companies participating in the event. However, the type of placements offered are most of the times unrelated to the qualification of the student. Also, the salary offered by the companies is not of satisfactory levels.

College Events

4.5

1) Freshers (a fest organized exclusively for freshers) 2) Gardenia (annual college fest) 3) International Gardenia (a fest dedicated to the international students in the institution. 4) New year's eve 5) Teacher's trove 6) Events pertaining to different states of India and various international students. 7) Hostel Day (an event dedicated to hostel students. 8) Republic day and independence day celebration.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Yes, it is feasible. They charge separately for hostel facilities and food served in the hostel apart from the tuition fees. They offer certain online courses which are charged separately. The tuition, transport, hostel and examination fees are charged a semester wise.

Fees and Financial Aid

They provide 50% scholarship to students on clearing aptitude test before enrolling themselves for a postgraduate degree. Only students completing a bachelor's degree from the same institution are eligible for this aptitude exam.

Campus Life

2.5

The campus life is great at this college. The college keeps on organizing various extracurricular activities to keep the students busy and energetic. They are also associated with activities of national importance, such as NCC and NSS. The college showcases a high range of cultural diversity with students from different Indian states and foreign nations.

Hostel Facilities

4

The college provides a very good hostel facility for its students. Freshers are given special attention to make them feel comfortable in the new environment. The college has a separate hostel for freshers and senior students. The food provided in the hostel is hygienic and of a good standard. Multiple breakfast options are available for students to choose from and also includes tea and coffee. Fruits and milk are served along with dinner in order to provide a balanced diet for students.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, the seniors were friendly and very helpful. We don't have any alumni group as such. However, they are accessible by the means of Facebook.

Exam Structure

They conduct exams twice in a year. In the first and second year, along with main subjects the students are expected to appear for two language exams along with an additional subject, whose marks are not included in the aggregate but are essential for the student to pass. However, the marks of the language exam formed the part of the total aggregate. The final year comprised only the main subjects and practicals.

Admission

I got admission in the college through merit basis. The eligibility criteria to get admission in the college included a minimum of 55% marks in higher secondary with Biology as a subject in +2. The admission procedure started with the submission of the original class 10th and 12th mark sheets, their xerox copies, and an application letter. Subsequent to that, they provided a general knowledge and aptitude test. The test scores were reported within 15 minutes of the test accomplishment. The officials concluded the admission procedure by handing over the admission confirmation letter comprising the college ID number allotted to me.

Faculty

3

The faculty members were well qualified and possessed profound knowledge in the subject and essential technical expertise. They were very friendly with students and always approachable for doubt clarification. They also accompanied us to various industrial trips that were planned to enhance our subject-related knowledge.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Now the syllabus has changed. New emerging technologies trends and subjects are introduced in new curriculum. Data science, Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Security are now taught. Practical marks are reduced to 50 marks. Term end examinations are conducted twice in a year. Exams are not that difficult. Usually previous year questions appear in the exams.

Companies' concepts like DSA, oops, DBMS operating system and even an interview role built into the structure.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible from the 5th semester. The university also conducts placement drives and skill development workshops. Out of the various companies, some of the reputed ones include Goldman Sachs, KPMG, EY, Deloitte, De Shaw, etc. The average package is around 7 to 8 lakhs but 60% students opt out from placements for further education. I plan to study a master's degree in business economics after my undergraduate studies.

There is no such thing as placements for now (in 1st year here) but in our second year, we have placement support here. We have compulsory internship at our Second year. We only have 2 batches, 1st Year and 2nd Year. But for now, among our seniors 60% of them hold internships and others are either building something or scaling their skills. For now, we don't have any placement records but according to scaler academy, it will be aroung 24 Lakhs.
