RSET: The best college in Kochi

The most specific aspect which made me choose mechanical engineering is machines that are available at our college. They train us to use these machines so that it would be benefited for our future. The teaching methods can be made more practical rather than focusing mostly on theory. The timings of the exams are perfect but I feel that sufficient gaps can be provided in between the exams.

RSET collaborates with various companies and organizations to offer internships across different domains. Students can explore internships in areas such as software development, data science, electronics, mechanical engineering, and more. Various companies like the Cochin shipyard, Zoho, HMT offers internship to students.

The placement start during the 6th semester but most of the companies comes during the 7th and 8th semester. Almost 50-60% of the students gets placed. The highest package offered is 12lpa. Companies like Bosch, accenture, TEAL, Tata Elxsi etc visited this year.

For M.Tech students with a CGPA above 7.5, there is a 35% scholarship in tuition fees for subsequent semesters. Scholarships are available for economically backward students (annual income less than Rs 2.5 lakhs). The government provides a merit cum means scholarship of Rs 25,000 per year.

RSET encourages students to participate in extracurricular activities. The college boasts excellent sports facilities, including a football ground, a cricket pitch, and provisions for basketball, handball, tennis, and badminton. Social Atmosphere: The campus fosters a positive and inclusive atmosphere, allowing students to interact, collaborate, and build lasting friendships. RSET has well-equipped spaces for hosting official events, conferences, and seminars. Both indoor and outdoor sports facilities are available. The college provides a gymnasium, a basketball court, and a football ground.

The admission process was easy. You can get admission through KEAM rank, management quota or NRI quota. The eligibility criteria is 70% above in class 10th and 12th. KEAM rank should be less than 20000. You can find the application form for admission in the college site. As our college is autonomous, the exams are usually moderate.
