Likes

I like the nature surrounding our college. The college is situated in a forest like area.
The fresh air around soothes you and calms you in the stressful long study period.
Friends supportive and helpful are a bliss here .

Dislikes

There are no nearby cities to chill around.
Sports grounds are a few in this place sadly.
The place is remote and has no clubs and entertainments.

Course Curriculum Overview

MBBS was my childhood dream and so it was not a burden to me. I studied for NEET with passion and cracked it finally in 2020. The course curriculum is perfect and I don't feel any changes to be made.

Class Size: 100Course Fees: INR 13000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The tuition fee for the first year for my batch was 4.85lakhs which was soon reduced to government fees, once my college was made government. The college was known semi govt before. The fee structure for the first, second, third and fourth years are 13000, 6000, 7000 and 11000 respectively.

Campus Life

Our college has only a few functions and fests conducted. The main fests held here include the annual fest and sports which is conducted for four long days. There will be no classes these days and students are encouraged to participate by announcing prizes.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel facility is like a typical government hostel. There are rooms for all year students . The rooms accomodate four three and two students. There are single rooms provided for final year students too.

Hostel Fee: INR 7000 per year

Admission

The eligibility of MBBS is only a pass for the NEET exams. I scored 563 and got selected for the second allotment in the state quota. I got allocated to Raja Muthiah College in the first allotment and got upgraded to IRT Perundurai Medical College. The admission procedures were conducted fair and well.

Tagore Medical College from my POV

Likes

The college has a very dedicated set of faculties who are very supportive. The faculties are easy to approach and very friendly. Every faculty is well experienced in their subject.
The college not only focuses on our academic development but extracurricular activities. There is a huge cricket ground in campus where we can play sports. There is also a college band.
The library is open till 8 pm. The library has prep ladder tablets which students could make use of.

Dislikes

The infrastructure could be a little more developed

Course Curriculum Overview:

Our curriculum is CBME based curriculum. It is more clinically oriented. We get to answer questions only after diagnosing the clinical case based questions. It focuses more on practical knowledge rather than just focusing on the theory part. It makes us ready to handle patients.

Many extracurricular clubs are there like Im in the fashion parade one.
Air conditioning facilities is avalaible jn almost all lecture halls
College is near to the metro and electric train stations making it easy for travels

Dislikes

Continous tests makes us uninterested in the subject.
Monotonous way of talking inevitably leading to us sleeping in class
Boys and girls cum activities are less leading to less interactions

Course Curriculum Overview:

For my medical field i feel some subjects are unnecessary in my view point like the community medicines. I feel anatomy weightage should be more compared to buochemistrand physiology. I would like them to improve the chapters and remove chalters that are unnecessary so that we medical students can concentrate on whats inportant rather than studying everything and stuffing our brain.

The atmosphere is so clean, infrastructure is much better when compared to other pvt. Medical institutions
The teaching faculty are good and supportive the labs are well equipped
The college encourages many sports and celebrates all festivals

The college is very strict with the dress code
Could improve the food in hostel and canteen
Does not allow outing for first year girls

Recently we have adopted CBME curriculum which is competency based medical education Since then the course has become a bot difficult and its necessary for making good doctors who are going to deal with life and death in the future

I liked the campus life. As all of us have come from a stressful exam it's just fun to enjoy

Some people can misguide you as we are totally new here

Course Curriculum Overview:

This course is well known for its complexity. It's so hard to understand in the first go. We will start to realise that 12th was just an ABCD. This not something impossible with patience and intrest it's easy to learn. Every month we will be having internals for each subject. It would be hectic but fruitful. Don't always street about academics there are lot of beautiful things to gaze at also.

Remarks:

The medical college and hospital is at Mundiyampakkam village, Villupuram District. Being located at a village, the medical college focuses on maintaining good health of rural people. There are 1100 beds which are used by patients. 650 beds are used for teaching and 450 beds are used for other medical purposes. Being close to nature, the college is surrounded by greenery. One can get fresh air and healthy environment easily. However, the city is a little bit far away.
