Remarks
The college is a decent one, but lags in their admission process and placement department. The management and faculty is more concerned with the amount of time students spending time in the lectures rather than the quality of education they receive. It would be better if they assess students holistically before admission and take care of their placement needs.
Entrance Preview
It seemed promising than other colleges available locally, plus I got concession in fees due to my aggregate marks in PCM. The labs and the campus were pretty big and spacious and the classrooms were in great condition, with step seating and centralized air-conditioning. All and all, it seemed like a good bargain.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is pretty standard, same basic subjects in the first year for all the engineering students and then branch based subjects and curriculum. A total Of 6-8 subjects per semester plus some lab and practical sessions, depending upon the subject involved.
Internships Opportunities
College is not very outwardly towards providing internship to students, they expect the students to try on their own get the internship. All they put focus is on the summer internship reports submitted by the student which they evaluate to be added as score in the GPA.
Placement Experience
Placements are not very promising, may be that has to do with the large no. of students studying there, only a few of them get placed and a no. of students especially from the Mech. and civil branch are left without any job opportunities in their hands.
College Events
so there's a yearly freshers party for all the first year students given by the seniors in the college facility. It's a pretty good event with food, music and some contests. College is responsible for all the students's safety as it gets quite late after the party is over, Then there is a annual fest organised by the student and faculty committee, inter college contests are held and celebrity are invited to perform at the final night of the college fest. And for all the students graduating every year there is a farewell party by their juniors which pretty standard and fun.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee is not very high considering the fees of other privately run institutions, but it is not very cheap either. For someone to graduate in Engineering, the average yearly fees comes around 1.5-1.75 lacs (including the bus fare), If you are availing the hostel facility the fees goes up depending upon the choice of room by the student.
Fees and Financial Aid
Students are provided fee concessions depending on their marks or their scores in competitive exams ( like JEE score for engineering aspirants). Some students that I know of were given 50% off on their annual fees for the entirety of their b.tech.
Campus Life
Campus life is pretty standard, students are as students are some are brats others are decent, there is no extreme culture. There is a safe and sound environment existing in the campus. The gender ratio is a bit skewed, there are about 70% Male to 30% female ratio in the campus. The labs are clean and well equipped, gym is pretty clean and spacious for a limited set of students.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities are very good, air conditioned rooms and depending upon the preference of the students and the fees they are paying sharing & non-sharing rooms are available. The hostel is under 24 hour cctv surveillance and have fire sprinklers installed. The hostels have clean bathrooms and common rooms and a GYM. The food is pretty standard and students availing mess facilities gets good amount of food.
Alumni/Alumna
There is no such alumni network existing that I know of, students who graduate don't keep any connection to the students or college. Neither the college have any such programs existing.
Exam Structure
The exam structure is pretty standard, two session exams per semester followed by a final semester exam. The marks of the session exams are added to the marks of the semester exams to create a aggregate GPA, and similarly every semester's session exams and final exams are added to get a final GPA of the students. The exams are conducted fairly without any scope for cheating.
Admission
Soon after the 12th exam result, I was approached by the college's admission dept. by email. After some to & fro conversation, I visited the college to know more about it. They recorded all my details and after some consideration regarding my scores in PCM, they gave me 20% concession on the course's annual fee. After all was said and done they showed me the campus and I finalized my admission in the next visit.
Faculty
The faculty is pretty good, they know what they are teaching and are pretty hands-on with the students. A lot of them are new recruits from IIT's or NIT's so they have good subject knowledge. One drawback I would like to point out is that, the change of faculty is very often which leads to some lag in syllabus and students loosing their interest in the particular subject.
