Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is very well described and designed as per the requirements of industries. The course provides in-depth knowledge about food Technology and also covers all the basics of chemical engineering as well as mechanical engineering. Food Technology is a branch of practical importance. The labs of the department are well-made. And you can do research related to any topics of interest. The faculties members are very supportive and they always guide you through the process. There are two mid-semester exams of 15 marks and end semester exam of 50 marks and 20 marks are for attendance, your behaviour in the class and assignment submissions. The exams are of moderate level, one can easily score good marks if you have taken the classes and studied well.
Internships Opportunities
Internships are available in the 6th semester. The university provides the paid internships as well. For the paid internships companies do: online aptitude tests, group discussions, and personal interviews. The internships are available for the multi national companies like Nestle, Mondelez, Unilever, Pernod Richard, United Breweries, Carlsberg, Bacardi, Britannia and many more. During the internships you will be getting the projects like cost reductions, cost optimisations, supply chain management, microbiogical projects, Shelf Life analysis, and many more.
Placement Experience
The HBTU has very good placement scenarios. The students could easily gets job here. There is a paid internship opportunities available in which there is aptitude tests, Group discussion, and personal interviews are there. You will be getting internships in the 6th semester and the placements session will start from 7th semester. On average there more than 100+ companies visits HBTU and MNC like Nestle, Unilever, United Breweries, Pernod Richard, Carlsberg, Mondelez, Bacardi, and Britannia, Parle, DS, Dabur, Adani Wilmar and many more companies visits HBTU for the placements. The average package for Food Technology branch is 5.5 LPA and the highest Package is 23 LPA. In 2022, there were batch of 30 students in which 28 students get placed. In which highest was 23 LPA and average was 6 LPA
Fees and Financial Aid
The total fee for one year is 145000. This is only for college fees and separate fees for the hostels. The total cost including all expenses for 4 years would be around 6-7 Lakhs for a day of scholars. There is a scholarship given by the UP government which is easily available to the persons who fulfilled the criteria for the scholarship. The campus provides paid internship opportunities as well as the placements at HBTU are very good. The highest package for the 2024 sessions is 23 LPA and the average is 6 LPA this year.
Campus Life
Overall the college life at HBTU is very good. There are various sub-councils and clubs. There are sports clubs, technical clubs, literature clubs, art clubs, and dancing and singing societies. For social services, there is the National Service Scheme (NSS HBTU), which is the largest student body on the campus of HBTU working for social services. There is 7 days fests named as Adhyaay (Cultural Fest) , Hunkar (Literary Fest) , Aagaz (Sports Fest), Technika (Technical Fest), NSS Youth Festival and so many events in year organised in HBTU. These clubs and sub-councils provides you an exposure to various skills like team work, communication, personal buildings and many more. All of these sub-councils are run by students and all decisions taken by students like event planning, team formation, etc. There is a central library in HBTU where you could get curriculum books easily. And you can issue a books for 15 days on the Library card. Total 5 books could be issued on one library card.
Admission
Harcourt Butler Technical University (HBTU), previously known as Harcourt Butler Technological Institute (HBTI). It takes the admission on the basis of JEE mains rank. The cut off varies from Branch to Branch. 1) Eligibility: Any students who is resident of India and have qualified the JEE mains are eligible for the counseling. 2) Application Form: The counseling is a online procedure. There are 3 rounds of counseling. The counseling starts after a months Jee mains scores are available. 3) Reservational Benefits: The reservation are available for the OBC, SC-ST, EWS categories of home state. And also, there is reservation for the Kashmiri migrants.
