Course Curriculum Overview

4

The mathematics faculty in particular is amazing, the courses are very comprehensive but not extremely relevant until you start your major-specific courses. They also tend to get a bit too theoretical.

Placement Experience

3.5

The highest package is almost always in the 50+ LPA range, and SRM offers plenty placement opportunities at your skill-level, grade and caliber. It mirrors the IT economy and has its highs and lows. Core placements, however, aren't great from what I've heard. Anyone from CSE and other adjacent branches need not worry though.

Fees and Financial Aid

I don't think they hike after you've joined, but it is quite expensive. I wouldn't recommend loans, but if you can afford SRM, it's a decent choice. Expenses also vary for different courses, but I've seen that doesn't necessarily indicate the usefulness of those courses.

Campus Life

3.5

Campus is HUGE, you'll find a club for almost any of your interests. Clubs are a little political but it largely shouldn't be a problem. There's an event practically every week, technical or cultural. You'll feel right at home if you were in a school which was focused on extracurriculars. SRM also received students from all over India, so you'll find people from your region in abundance.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The hostel and mess have become more expensive since their recent spikes, but they still remain the best option keeping convenience in mind. The mess is far better than the stories I've heard from other colleges, and the only problem is the monotony of the menu (which cycles every week). The variety is good, and there's always something for everyone. Picky eaters might struggle though. As for the room, they're cleaned on an almost daily basis, and the rooms are pretty decent, although very small. I would heavily recommend getting an AC room, as it gets very hot in the even semesters.

Admission

The exam is conducted in 3 phases, which is great because it provides more opportunities between other exams. The exam is very easy and fully online (as of now). The only problem I faced was that I could select only 1 choice after the results were out.

Placement Experience:

Students can join job drives from the 7th term. Many firms visit the campus for jobs and offer roles in tech and other fields. The pay varies by firm and role. EEC has a good job rate and gives help for job prep. After my degree, I plan to work in the tech field and grow my skills.

Placement Experience:

Students are open to campus placements from 2nd year onwards. There are many companies who visit such as Delloite, Accenture, Cognizant, TCS, Amazon, NatWest, Nokia, etc. Highest package offered is 42 lpa and lowest is maybe 2-4lpa. Around 90% of students get placed here. My plans is to get a job through campus recruitment. Currently I got an internship through campus recruitment in Cognizant so the recruitment is quite nice here.

Placement Experience:

One thing I really need to appreciate at CIT is its placement training program. The placement team conducts regular sessions on 1. aptitude 2. coding 3. communication skills 4. group discussions and 5. interview preparation which helped me feel more confident during placements. The trainers were friendly and always encouraged us to improve our skills step by step. They provide continuous guidance and feedback throughout the training process. Mock interviews and one to one assessments helped me to understand my strength and weak areas and I work on improvements . These sessions not only improved my technical and communication skills but also boosted my confidence . The placement training team played an important role in preparing me for career opportunities and industry expectation

Placement Experience:

Chennai Institute of Technology is an instituition that truly prioritizes student career growth . The placement cell is exceptionallu well-organized ,consistently connecting students with reputed companies across various industries. What makes CIT stood out is the quality of its training staff. They focus heavily on communication , technical knowledge and competitive preparation ,align students with what top companies expect ,and contiuosly push us to improve and meet industry standards. Their structured training helped me to clearly identify my strengths and work on my weak areas, which made a huge difference during interviews and boosted my overall confidence. The department faculty are equally commnedable ,knowledgable ,approachable and genuinely invested in student career. Overall CIT is an excellent choice for anyone focused on building a strong and sucessful career
