Course Curriculum Overview
I opted for Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce because the course was very unique. I was eager to learn Dalit and literary theories. The course content was detailed and structured. I got to learn several new things which I did not get to learn during my bachelor's. The course focused more on Literary theories and criticisms like Aristotle, Roland Barthes, and so on. However, I thought that compared to the content of the course, the time was less and no help was provided to us during or before the semester exams and assignments were in huge numbers. But, during the final year, I got to write a dissertation on my preferred topic of a comparative study of Bengali and Western fairytales. But the course definitely didn't prepare me for any real-world applications and the teaching method was below average.
Fees and Financial Aid
The university did have many placement opportunities but for the students of MA English. the opportunities were less. The College had a different placement cell but not many opportunities were given to the English students. Talking about the cost of the course, it was affordable including all the necessary charges and there were no policies in increasing the tuition fees or any such hikes to mention.
Campus Life
My overall experience in the University was below average because Pune is the education hub of India, I thought that it was a supreme institution considering the rankings and acclamations they had. The faculties were not helpful to all the students but some were academically bright. They did not cooperate with us or with other professors to clear our doubts. No study materials were provided for any of the courses. The college focused more on organizing fests and carnivals. They had a lot of social clubs which was an added advantage.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facilities were good but it was not at all affordable for everyone considering the facilities they were providing. The food was rotten and many had to be hospitalized due to food poisoning. the hostel area was very safe and secure for girls and the transport was easily accessible. The registration process was very tedious as I had to run back and forth from the college to the hostel for filling out a form. lastly, I did not have a very good experience in the hostel.
Admission
The eligibility for getting into the master's program at Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce was a minimum of 55% in the bachelor's. I found the application form on the website itself. The admission process was very smooth although there was merely no competition for this particular program of Masters in English. No exams were conducted for admission and it was entirely based on the student's merit. The college website mentioned every detail for the admission starting from the dates. the application fees. The results were declared within two weeks of applying and they informed me through email. However, It would have been great if there were some level of skill test conducted to assess the students better.

Having done my bachelors from the above mentioned college, I felt that the syllabus was too vast as compared to the time given to us.The course was not as practical and very limited to my knowledge.
