Course Curriculum Overview

4

Curriculum - Insurance subjects + General Management subjects+ courses on Analytics, Programming, Risk Management. The curriculum helps to gain industry specific knowledge as well as the management related knowledge. It is very much aligned with the present trends of the industry. The college can work on stacking the subjects in such a way that the insurance subjects get covered in first year and the rest subjects are covered there on. The college has got professors with vast amount of knowledge and experience and it is reflected in their teaching. The college follows trimester level pattern and total 6 trimesters in 2 years. The difficulty level is moderate to difficult.

Internships Opportunities

5

I was selected for internship at HDFC ERGO. And the department alloted to me was Reinsurance. Stipend - 25000 per month The project I was working was to analyse the trends of reinsurance in last 3 years. Skills that were required were Microsoft Excel and good technical knowledge of the subject.

Placement Experience

4.5

The college has a record of 100 percent placement since inception. The placement process starts from 4th trimester ie first trimester 2nd year. The companies that participated are mostly from Insurance sector follwed by IT sector and then consulting. Prominent partners being Marsh Brokers, MMGS, Mahindra Brokers, HDFC ERGO, Bajaj General and many more. Highest package - 22 LPA Avg package - 12.3 LPA My plans are to join the insurance industry by participating in the placement process.

Fees and Financial Aid

The rate of increase of tuition is very minimal and is already very low as compared to other institutions. Tuition fee - ?9,43,000 Hostel fees - ?3,00,000 It's for whole 2 year course. There are no other compulsory significantly higher amount of charges. There are numerous scholarships which students can avail on merit basis. The scholarships are for standing first in your respective class, subject topper, research project, etc. College also hosts numerous competitions where cash prizes are awarded. There is no specific employment scheme like earn and learn in the campus.

Campus Life

5

The college has a tradition of involving every student in one or more committee. Where students get the atmosphere to showcase their leadership skills. Flagship event like Insurance Summit (October), HR Summit (September), CD Deshmukh seminar ( December) are graced by Industry professional and top managers of the country. Cultural events like Manthan is the platform to showcase the real strength of the campus by inviting other colleges to participate in the institute mega event. Sports and recreational facilities are top notch including swimming pool, gymansium, badminton court, other playfields. Social outreach committee conducts insurance awareness programmes in rural areas nearby Pune.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The hostels are alloted according to the merit and the students have choice to accept or reject, the list thus moves accordingly. The mess provides 3 meals per day with tea and snacks twice a day. The menu is decided by the students welfare committee and specialsed meals can be arranged on special occasions. The food is hygienic and tasty The hostel is bit expensive as compared to the PG or flat basis accommodation. I had been alloted the hostel.

Admission

The admission process includes CAT/CMAT scores + 10/12/Graduation grades + GDPI. The students get shortlisted based on the CAT or CMAT scores and further they are called for GD and PI. Eligibility criteria - 60% in Graduation in any discipline. Application form is available on college website and enough time is given for the applicants after the results of respective exams are announced. Once the candidate gives his GDPI,his overall score is calculated by giving highest weightage to their Entrance exam scores(40%), Education background (20%), GDPI (30%) and 10% for extracurricular activities. The college can work on assisting students in documentation. All the doubts are catered through telephonic conversation if any from the office.

Interview Experience

5

GD topics are usuually current affairs related and are very basic ones. Interview questions individuals academic background and family background along with extra curricular activities and position of responsibilities held. The interview is also on very easier side. One can prepare for the rounds through newspaper, digital media and other internet options.

The placement scenerio at our caollege can be described as average overall. Most recruiting company belong to the banking and supply chain sectors. Marketing students generally have better placement opportunities, while finance and HR students do get job, though the package are not very high. Buswiness analytics has limited scope as very few companies visit the campus for the roles in that domain.

I did choose this course as I am genuinely interested in management and if it is healthcare management that makes me excited. There is a different teaching faculty for each and every subject. The faculties are highly qualified market professionals and experts who teach in an extremely interactive and practical way. They are very supportive.
