Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is very thoughtfully designed to include both management and insurance subjects. The curriculum includes various subject such as Fire Insurance,Life Insurance, Financial Management, Quantitative Techniques, Organisation Design etc. The exams are conducted thrice a year as part of the trimester system.
Internships Opportunities
Various Insurers, Insurance brokering and Insuretech companies visit the campus for internships. Various projects in the field of insurance are offered. Role include, Underwriting, Claims, Product Dveelopment, Corporate Sales, Business Analyst, Consultant etc.
Placement Experience
NIA has had consistently 100% placement since the inception of its PGDM Program. Most large private insurers and brokers visit the campus for internships and final placements. Some of the companies that visited campus this year were HDFC ERGO, Mahindra Insurance Brokers, Marsh India Brokers, AON, TATA AIG etc.
Fees and Financial Aid
The tution fees is approximately 9.5 Lacs for 2 years. The hostel fees is around 3 Lacs for 2 years. There are various scholarships available to students. Students who did well in their entrance exams as well as the GD/PI are awarded fee waiver scholarships. Scholarship is also povided to student who who perform exttremely well in certain subjects in the institute.
Campus Life
The campus life is amazing. There is so much to do on the campus including various sports such as table tennis, badminton, volley ball, basketball, swimming etc. Manthan is the annual fest which is organised in the month of February. All students are part of some committee.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel are provided to most students. The rooms are either twin sharing or triple sharing. The hostels are situated within the NIA Campus. Breakfast, Lunch, Evening Tea/Coffee and Dinner is provided to all hostel students.
Admission
The admission process was pretty smooth. I applied through CAT as it was the only exam that I gave. The institute however also accepts CMAT and XAT. The application form was available on the website. I applied on 15th April through my CAT score and my GD/PI was scheduled for 9 June.
Interview Experience
The GD/PI consisted of genralised questions mainly concerned with insurance topics. There was no written test conducted. The interview round was around 10-15 minutes long. The intrvie questions were mailnly aimed towards background and future goals.
