Biotechnology is more practical knowledge rather than compare to other subjects which are only theoretical knowledge. In Biotechnology due to continuous process of doing multiple experiments students are more practically skillfull compared to other students of general courses. In respect to real life this curriculum teaches us many protocols to do things with perfection in work, being ready for cautions on every steps, time management, team work, etc. In our institute this course isn't prioritise as much as other courses. The teaching faculties for our branch are guest faculties or other branch faculties, our branch specifically don't have their own permanent faculties. The timing of exams held sometimes are irregular. But each semester completes before completion of 6 months.

There's not much information about internship of our own university. But the students can apply internships under other institutions like IIT and NIT which are also a great for students resume also. And stipend things are not specific.

From semester 4th the students are eligible for campus placements. The average package can be 3-4LPA. The placement success rate is rather low about 10-20%. Students who get the placements can pursue it otherwise they can go for PhD through CSIR NET or GATE like exams.

Course fees- Rs.50000/- per year + Rs.2000/-(Alumini program) This fees didn't change since last many years. There are many scholarships students can apply like- 1. State scholarship portal- Students of Odisha with ST/SC/OBC/EWS/SEBC can apply this scholarship. Scholarship reward depends upon course fee amount. 2. National Scholarship portal- This portal has many criterias under which students all over India can apply for it. 3. Nua-O Scholarship- Newly launched scholarship under which students of Odisha studying in odisha institutes can apply it and reward is 9000/10000/11000. For this all category students are eligible under certain conditions. Campus- Every year placements visits our institute to choose few right candidates. The chances of placement is quite low and it's totally depends on the students ability.

As a biotech student we don't have much time to participate in extra curricular activities. But there are many activities occurs under University. Programs like annual functions, sport meets, inter-university contest programs, film fest, dance, singing, etc competition. There no limitations on programs over here. There are wide range of books available here and students can also access e-library under which they can also access online downloaded books. For us we can't issue the books but we can read as much as required inside the library. And there are sufficient books present in the department. Students of this university are very open minded and always look forward to do extra curricular activities.

The eligibility of M.Sc Biotechnology in Ravenshaw University is B.Sc in Honours (Zoology, Botany, Chemistry, Physics, Biotechnology). CPET(Common P.G. Entrance Test) entrance mark is required for admission in this course. CPET entrance dates starts from May of every year. CPET entrance is done under SAMS portal. Application fees- For general- Rs.500/- per subject For ST/SC- Rs. 300/- per subject For additional subjects - Rs. 200/-(per each extra subject) For Pwd/third gender- No fees.
