Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

MBBS is a course after which one become a doctor of any sort. Helping people and learning about inside of a body and healing people and also future money were some of the major aspects of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose this course. I think we get real time experiences of what the real world experience would look like. In first year of MBBS course we had a subject called Anatomy which focuses on the inner parts of body what they look like. In second year we were to go to posting in our government hospital to get real life experience to stay and deal with patients. The teaching methods in my college are not interactive. Professor comes in the class and opens up the ppt and reads it and recites it. If the teaching were more interactive the students would not go to online courses like marrow or prepladder for university exams. We have to give two internal exams, one prelims exam and at last the final exam. Difficulty level is medium according to me.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Internship is government based and is employed by our college itself in the affiliated hospital. Stipend is also given. But I think stipend is low as compared to other colleges. Stipend should be increased.

Fees and Financial Aid

My total fee for one year is INR 1,26,000. In which tution fee was INR 1,14,000 and additional 12,000 fee for additional benefits like mess, gym, library and other facilities and additional 4000 per year for hostel facilities. Tution fee has increased significantly in past 5-6 years and it all depends on state government. There is no scholarship available for students coming from AIQ quota like myself. Whereas students coming from state quota gets benefits like scholarships upto 50% of the tution fee. I've not done any campus employment as such in 1st proff or 2nd proff. Campus employment only starts after you have completed the degree and doing internship in the hospital for 1 year. You also get stipend for it.

Campus Life

2

There are not many fests in my college because our dean do not give any fund for these activities. Annual fest organised by our student council is UDGAM held during ganesh chaturti is the biggest annual fest in our college. And apart from that CELEFIESTAA is another fest organised by our batch this year. All the famous medical books by indian authors and some foreign author books are also available in the library. There is only one or two classrooms in my college in the name of campus which also is not regulated by proper ventilation. In the name of technological provision projector is there to teach. Sports and extracurricular activities are going on throughout the year. We also organise sports competitions in the fest UDGAM to engage the sports spirit of students. Many clubs like literature club, dance club, singing club are present. I myself am a part of dance club.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel facilities are provided as a rented private hostel on lease. Facilities like water cooler ro is provided. Except that everything is self paid we have to pay for everything else. Mess is not included in this. We have to eat from a private mess which is far away from our hostel because our hostel is situated in the outskirts of the city. There is no extra registration process. We only had to fill a form and that's it. But for it's rent we have to give demand draft of 4000 rupees every year to the college office. Locality is not good. Many half murders took place in my locality recently. So it is more safe to live in hostel rather than in PG.

Admission

I took the NEET exam in 2022 and got selected and got a government seat in GMC jalgaon. For this examination the eligibility is to get 50% marks in physics, biology and chemistry subjects in your 12th boards examination. The application form, application fees, and application dates are all available on the official site of nta neet. I didn't avail benefits of reservation quota because I got selected in open quota not reserved quota. The NEET exam is a yearly exam meaning it is only once in a year. When I took the examination it was relatively easy as compared to previous year. But the cut off depends on the difficulty level of the exam. If it's easy the cut off for government seat will be high and vice versa. I got a government seat in GMC Jalgaon in 2nd round under AIQ quota. Admission process was very hard for me as I belong to Rajasthan and I have to come all the way to Maharashtra to do my admission. I think this process should be all online.

Curriculum is highly planned and very vast. Regular revision is necessary to caver all subjects. All subjects are taught with high practical basis hence ensuring exposure and preparing for real life exposure. Teaching could be more consise and logic based. Main exams are every 2 to 3 months with difficulty slightly higher in term 2 than term 1.
