Remarks
The college has improved a lot over the last few years. The much better-disciplined environment today. We consider it as a value for money. for the simple fact that we have received much more than what we have invested. God bless our institution! We feel proud.
Entrance Preview
Good brand equity, low fee, nice infrastructure and the fact that it's a government college makes this college all the more unique. Much improved discipline today. The fee is still very low and I guess it has not been raised since the last more than 6 years.
Course Curriculum Overview
Great! Very contemporary. From the session 2018-20, the College has introduced the CBCS syllabus. Probably IMS, Ranchi University, Ranchi is the first MBA college in Jharkhand to introduce a special paper on "Technology and Innovation Management". The college would certainly get an A+ grade in the curriculum.
Internships Opportunities
Yes. All 240 students of the Institute easily get internships in and around the region. Most of the internships are in public sector organizations.
Placement Experience
I would give a B+ grade on placements. Placements need to be improved. Not that bad but still there is enough scope for improvement. One reason for less attention on placement is that the fee is extremely low and many students qualify in several competitions like Bank PO, SSC, public sector management trainee level exams such as SAIL, ONGC, CIL etc.
College Events
Cultural programmes, Conferences, Seminars, Alumni Meets, Sports events etc. are frequently organized. Many students participate in outside events as well. The college has always promoted our participation in cultural events and I believe it has only helped us in improving our personality.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Inexpensive. Only Rs. 80,000/- for General and OBC students (for complete two years) and Rs. 60,000/- for SC & ST students (for complete two years). It's difficult to think that a management college could provide regular education on a small fee of Rs. 15,000/- to Rs. 20,000/- only per semester.
Fees and Financial Aid
60% of the students get full-paid E-Kalyan scholarships. The strength of this college / Institute lies in the fact that most of its students avail scholarships.
Campus Life
Appreciable gender ratio - almost 1:1. Events are frequently organized. I have also been an achiever at this college with several representations in big events outside the campus. The college has always supported co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
Hostel Facilities
There is NO hostel facility. On this front, we feel sorry. Most of the underprivileged students who require hostels, apply for the common hostel facility provided by the University within its campus. However, IMS does not have its own hostels. The campus space is also not that huge that it could accommodate hostel for students.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes. we have a strong alumni network but we need to meet more frequently. Most of the senior students are helpful particularly in the internships.
Exam Structure
Internal Assessment Score of 30 Marks and University Exams of 70 marks. The Internal Assessment Scores are based on attendance, class performance and tests conducted frequently. The University exam schedule has improved a lot. still there is some more scope for improvement.
Admission
Selection was made on the basis of CAT / XAT / MAT / CMAT and ATMA score (any one). Then we were called for GD and subsequently PI. The final selection was made on the basis of our performance in the aptitude tests i.e. CAT / XAT / MAT / CMAT and ATMA score and GD / PI.
Faculty
Very good. A diverse crowd of teachers. Most of the teachers are very helpful in resolving the doubts and difficulties of the students. The periodic guest lectures are also very helpful. I suggest that the college should invite more and more people from the industry as well in these guest lectures.
