Remarks

For academics, it's a good college. But it will leave you with no personal life and you won't be able to enjoy.

Entrance Preview

I found this college on top science colleges in Bangalore right next to Christ. And it appeared good enough. It was ranked as second best science college in Bangalore and Karnataka. The reviews seemed fined and it looked like a good college

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

It's good. Overall I think its good in terms of academics but not so good in terms of extracurricular activities. You'll have lab 3 days a week. Its actually a triple major course and each subject will have equal weighting and is equally important. So you'll have to study a lot too

Internships Opportunities

No, it doesn't. There is no such striped or anything. You can apply for an internship yourself. You can ask faculty for help and references

Placement Experience

3.5

Depends on your marks. If you're able to achieve good marks you will definitely get offers from good companies. There are job interviews held in the college as well for some companies. For placement. If you're good enough you'll get the job. Companies like Wipro etc come here to hire too.

College Events

1.5

This is where it isn't that good. The events are not such as you'd expect in your college life. They just have some regular functions and activities on an annual basis We have a yearly event call micro mania in the microbiology department where a lot of activities and sports are held. And everyone takes place as a class.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee is quite feasible For my course I'm paying 40k per annum. Which is very much on the cheap side. The fee is lower for Karnataka students. But non-Karnataka students have to pay a little more. Other expenses are the exam fees, lab charges, uniform expenses, etc

Fees and Financial Aid

No. But the person who scores highest in their department gets a refund of his 50% fees. You can apply for other scholarship programmes online as well

Campus Life

2.5

They are good. Gender ratio I think females are more. You can see a lot of diversity. Students from all around India are studying here. And even some from other countries as well as Nigeria Kenya etc. The labs are in good conditions. There are different competitions held almost every month

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors are really nice and helpful. They will help you with your studies and also guide you in your future.

Exam Structure

There are two internal exams held per semester and one final semester exam is there. Internal exams are of 25 marks each.. And in the semester exam the theory paper is for 70 marks and practical exam is of 30 marks. Your lab records will carry 5 marks. Attendance will carry 5 marks. Internals marks will be added up as well and compose 30 marks.

Admission

It was direct admission. I had to send my 12th marksheet and I got admission based on that. You can apply for admissions online as well or do it in person. The admission letter arrived just after a few days and at the time of admission I had to present that along with the receipt

Faculty

4.5

The microbiology department is one of the best in the college. The teachers are really thorough with their explanation and if you don't understand in class you can go ask them in person as well. They're strict in the class as they have to be. But really friendly outside the class

The course i choose is bsc because of the different subjects in this course it has electronics and computer science . The curriculum prepares me by special courses and the new ways of teaching. The methods of teaching is good but we need new ways like learning with games. The timing of exam is 3 hours for eights marks, and the difficulty is the benches are not comfortable

Now the syllabus has changed. New emerging technologies trends and subjects are introduced in new curriculum. Data science, Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Security are now taught. Practical marks are reduced to 50 marks. Term end examinations are conducted twice in a year. Exams are not that difficult. Usually previous year questions appear in the exams.

Students become eligible from the 5th semester. The university also conducts placement drives and skill development workshops. Out of the various companies, some of the reputed ones include Goldman Sachs, KPMG, EY, Deloitte, De Shaw, etc. The average package is around 7 to 8 lakhs but 60% students opt out from placements for further education. I plan to study a master's degree in business economics after my undergraduate studies.

Most of the students after completing four years, continue to stay here to get Masters degree after one more year and pursue PhD from world renowned institutions. Very few people (<7/100) per batch will sit for campus placements and most of them will be selected with a good annual package of 30000 at an average. Some students, mostly Physocs majors can give government exams like ICRB, GATE to join ISRO and BARC as scientists
