The campus is very beautiful and is no less than a hill station itself
Perfect location for travelling various hill stations
campus life is very happening and everyday you get to learn a lot.

Dislikes

75% attendance criteria compels students to sometimes miss out on some important things
The food in the mess isn't upto the mark.

Course Curriculum Overview

The courses offered by the institute are well structured and updated according to the new information gained on the subject. There are enough practicals held for each course so as to prepare students for real world applications.

Internships Opportunities

There are great internship opportunities provided by the college. Companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Flipkart, Samsung, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan & Chase, Paytm, Uber, Oracle, Sprinklr, and so on that offer students with intern opportunities.

Placement Experience

There are on campus placements where many companies like Google, Flipkart, Amazon, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan & Chase, Oracle, Sprinklr, Samsung, Paytm, Uber, etc. The average package is 18 lpa.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are various scholarships offered by the institute in association with various banks on the basis of merit and income. One such scholarship is means cum merit scholarship. There are also some special scholarships offered by kotak bank for girls.

Campus Life

The cultural fest "Thomso" is held once every year around October-November. The technical fest "Cognizance" is held once every year around March. Books of almost all types can be found in library such as novels, academic, etc free of cost.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel provides various facilities like laundry room, gym, tv room, reading room, cyber room, common area. Also each student has their personal almirah, study table. There are generally double or triple sharing room for freshers.

Hostel Fee: INR 10000 per year

Admission

Everyone who has qualified JEE Mains and Advanced are eligible for the courses offered by IIT Roorkee. The Application form, fees and dates will be shared to you via email after the Josaa counselling. There are some reserved seats for SC/ST/OBC students and also some reservations are made for girls too. There are 4 exams every year - 2 midterms and 2 endterms.

Interview Experience

No there are no Group Discussions or Interviews for admission to IIT Roorkee. However one has to clear JEE Mains and Advance and gain a seat at IIT Roorkee in any desired branch via Josaa according to the rules and regulations.

GEU and CSE ho hand in hand!

Placement Experience:

LTI, Polaris, Deloitte, Infosys, Oracle, Nvidia and what not are there for placements here. Even the Fintech and finance companies like the Axis Bank, Shri Ram Capital Finance and all are here. Thus, placements worth 10-50 lakhs is quite possible at GEU.

Geu provides best intenrships!

Placement Experience:

In GEU placements are like such that we don't have to bother at all. We are approached by placements cell in the 5th semester and then are trained for the whole month and then university urges us to go for internships to have the required exposure and have a CV which can impress the recruiters first hand. Thus, we get placement which median as of now is 8.5 lakhs.

GEU has the best Placements!

Placement Experience:

McKinsey, Oracle, NVIDIA, Google, TCS, Deloitte and many more come here for placements. Around 15-20 students in 2025 had placements worth over 40 lakhs and four students managed to grab placements worth 50 lakhs or more.

I didnt applied for any other colleges other than some iits which were iit bombay, kanpur, roorkee, guwahati. Just these four and nothing because i got a decent rank in JEE Adv 2025. No i didnt get rejection from any college with my rank in jee main and advanced 2025 The admission process is straight like 1) JEE main 2) JEE Advanced 3) Josaa counselling Cutoff for top seven iits is higher than all other iits neans that you cant get into top seven just by qualifying jee advanced, you must have a good rank....Read More

IIT ROORKEE - A SCRUPULOUS REVIEW

I took part in jossa councelling and got it . I was happy with any of seven old iits . In better way , i would be happy in going any top iit. Moreover i choose it because of it's weather and location. Rest all things are similar to all top iits. Nothing is less in iit roorkee. You have to give jee main then jee advanced. If you get good rank , you will get this college. You will have to get air under 5000 to get in iit roorkee or any top iit....Read More

1st year opinion of IIT Roorkee

I took admission from JEE (Main+Advance).Form could be found on NTA website. Some reservation benefits were , i got a bit higher brancher even though my rank was lower. Mains timing are morning shift and evening shift. As for advance it runs all day for 6 hours(with a break of 2 hour in between). Mains is easy , advance is a bit difficult....Read More
