Likes

The events that are organised are great.
The place of Varanasi is a really spiritual place.
The new Student Activity center is amazing.

Dislikes

Its an OPEN CAMPUS, so there is a lot of traffic on college roads
Other students from BHU, provoke and pick fights often

Course Curriculum Overview

It is a considerably easier course than higher branches, like Mechanical. Completely dependent if you want to go for CORE or NON-CORE. decent preparation fro CORE people. Bring some technological advancement, still old and inaccurate equipment is still used. Exams are tad bit difficult. Proper preparation is required

Internships Opportunities

I haven't yet sitten for interships yet, so I don't have much of any experience about this, but recently, due to the layoffs, the internship situation has been kind of dire, as only 1 person from our +1 seniors got an internship

Placement Experience

7th semester onwards, placement takes place, and a lot of great companies visit, like Microsoft, JPMC, Amazon, Flipkart, and more. A lot of offers were made, and a decent number were placed. I plan on becoming software engineering, and getting placed on campus into one of the big companies

Fees and Financial Aid

It is an IIT, so only general people have 1 Lacs per sem tuition; for others, financial aid is available, and the fees is subsidised. Also, many scholarships are available. For M.Tech and PDF Students, stipend is available too.

Technex - March Kashiyatra - January Spardha - Sepetember The library is decent , but in terms of course books, quite ill equipped, only 4-5 copies of a course book are present Classrooms are very old, no AC. Newly built SAC (student activity center), with great facilities, and gym. A lot of councils and clubs

Hostel Facilities

Horrendous rooms, 3 people share a room built for 2 people, 2 cupboard in a room, where 3 students are living. Mess food is also stupid bad, its affordable, at only 15k per semester, but the quality is really bad. Hostel allotment is automatic, and you need to switch hostels every year

Hostel Fee: INR 45000 per year

Admission

For admission Cutoff: 9000 JEE Advance Cutoff for B. Tech Civil Branch in IIT (BHU) Varanasi. Application: JEE JOSAA Counselling Exams: 2 examinations per semester, 2 semesters per year. Total 2 midsems, and 2 end sems. On average, mid sems are 30% weightage, and end sems are 50%. Relative Grading. Some exams can be super easy, and some are next to impossible is fully dependent on the professor The admission process is completely Physical, and manual, no technological advancement has taken place.

Placement Experience:

Form the beginning of very first year students are eligible for the campus placements. TCS, cognizant, wipro, are the some companies visited here. Highest package is 44 lpa in amazon which is off campus for software role. Placements % is quite medium if you are serious about skill then you will be get a path here to go ahead. Arround 60 to 70 is the placement % My plans after getting degree is to get a job.

GLA University Mathura is Great!

Placement Experience:

Average package at GLA University may range between 5-7 lakhs but one student has managed to get placements of 55 lakhs and that is still the record placement from GLA University campus Mathura. Around 70-75% students are placed every year but I will be preparing for GATE as my ambition are to be atleast post graduate if not a PHD.

Good for learning and Skill development

Placement Experience:

Mostly te 6th sem (3rd year) got eligible for campus placement. Amazon, Accenture, AVL India, Atlan and many others (about 900+) visited and made 4000+ offers. The ave. package is about 5.25 LPA and highest crossed 39 LPA. Above 60%+ got their placement and the persentage of students receiving multiple offer is about 32%. After degrre want to build a strong carrer and to contribute in the grouth of Bharat.

Honest Opinion on IIIT ALLAHABAD

Placement Experience:

From 4th semester, many students get into the internship and many gets further preplacement through it. The companies visted are google, atlassian, flipkart, qualcomm, samsung, phone pe etc. Highest package is 1.21CR per annum. Average package is 30LPA 90% students got placed. Private job is the plan after getting the degree. 90% students gets placed.

So entry in IIT BHU was through JEE ADVANCE. I gave the examination and got an All India Rank(AIR) of 7533. Then I had Josaa counselling where I had to select colleges according to my priorities. So one of the many colleges I filled was IIT BHU(4 Year B.TECH Chemical Branch). The distribution of colleges is purely based on your ranks. Higher rankers will be prefferd above you.
