- Infrastructure of the college is quite good, campus is quite big and good, and MBBS will always remain the only course which I'll select in every life. All one can visit hospital which is near to the campus only whenever he/she wants.
Dislikes
- One day I saw someone not flushing after using the washroom in hostel. I didn't like that at all. Everyone should take care of the hygiene.
- In our biochemistry lecture hall one of the AC is not working and it took the cr's 1 year to get is corrected but now the ac is again not working and no one is repairing the ac.
- Stipend of 14.5k in internship is less. And clinical postings from second yearshould be given more importance .
Course Curriculum Overview
MBBS for me is a great choice as one gets to interact with the patients, treat the patients and at the end of the day get a lot of satisfaction when the doctor get to cure the ailments of a patient. Everything that we are studying throughout our MBBS course, this is going to help someone else in getting a better healthy life. We can apply our knowledge in real human. There are total 9 semesters in MBBS course 2 in first professional MBBS, 3 in second professional MBBS, 2 in third professional MBBS part I and 2 in third professional MBBS part II, covering all 19 subjects. Along with this there are many part completion tests and viva for internal marks. The difficulty of the exam is average and with consistency and discipline one can easily go along smoothly with this exams.
Internships Opportunities
After 4.5 years of MBBS in our college, we need to do the compulsory 12 months of internship where we will be given a stipend money of 14.5 k. After doing this we'll get the licence for practising medicine. Then one can join as a JR in some institute or can sit for NEET PG exam for doing MD. I'm still in second professional MBBS and will join internship after 2.5 yr.
Fees and Financial Aid
Our tution fee for complete 4.5years of MBBS is 54 lakhs. There is no scholarship as per my knowledge available in my college as this is a semi government college. At the end of 4.5 years one need to do compulsory 12 months internship with a stipend of 14.5 years ( in my college), then they will be given license for practising medicine. After that one can do MD or can join any institution as junior resident doctor. The salary varies with the institute.
Campus Life
We have college week (7 days) , foundation day of our college, saraswati puja celebration in our college. Various curricular books are available in the library there are two libraries. One is the central library where one can study and another where there are all the books kept. There is a playground where one can play and also badminton court for playing. Students play badminton, cricket, football in the group which is quite big. In the classroom we have white board, projectors, ACs , fan, lights (false ceiling ) and quite good environment.
Hostel Facilities
The rooms are for two people, there are 2 beds, 2 study tables, 2 chair, two lights, 2 fans and 24 hr electricity facility, along with this we have washroom attached in some rooms and in some we have common washroom. In my room I don't have attached washroom so I use the common washroom which the masi clean everyday. Overall the hygenic condition is good. We get breakfast ( bread butter/ chowmin/ poha/ Puri sabji alternately), then lunch and dinner (fish/egg/ rajma/ chola/ chicken / soyabean) alternately. Mess is managed my the students of 4th year . Every month the mess manager Changes. Veg students eag veg menu and non veg dishes are made for non vegetarian students. The meals are good and hygiene. The hostels are affordable and compulsory. They take hostel fee along with the yearly fee every year . So hostel fees of 72k is compulsory.
Admission
I am UR and I gave NEET UG examination. I got 482 marks and after 2nd round of counseling I got Tripura Medical College. Then I went to DME office for admission purpose. For application form and fees I went to the college and I submitted 12 lakh in the SBI Bank of college fory first year. They took my 12th class marksheet and some other documents which I'll get back once I complete my internship after 4.5 years of MBBS. NEET UG exam is all India based exam and the difficulty of the exam is quite high. More than the difficulty, one need to master time management to excel in this exam. Now I'm in second professional MBBS and I'll be giving my university exam in the month of March. I am having no reservation and availing no scholarship ( being general candidate I hardly have any option for any scholarship). My college give 14.5k as stipend to the interns.
